Thank God he had you to step in with the same Passion for Old Motorcycles as he did . You are doing a fantastic job keep up the great work !! (and get checked regularly for whatever it was that got your Dad ,if history repeats itself maybe they can treat in time . I know it’s an terrible thing to think about but that stuff can be hereditary )

Being a British motorcycle guy, this is my favorite channel about bikes. The soul that these bikes have is incredible. You can sense the ghosts of the past who still sit on these machines and the brave (crazy) guys who rode these machines past their intended design parameters.

Hey Matt, I have been fortunate enough to spend a fair amount of time with Dave Lietner. That A motor in the rivet tank was purchased from him by your dad. Dave got it from Frank Westfall. There is as bit of a funny story behind the purchase from Frank. Ask Dave about it at Wauseon this summer. Also, according to Dave there is a second Reading race engine. Again, Dave sold it to your dad. Is it still there in the museum somewhere? Love your videos! Hope to make it back to the museum sometime this year.

Great video!! I've been waiting a longtime to see the Reading Standard again! In 1999, I met Dale for the first time. I was with Jim Parker. When I saw the Reading Standard hanging from the ceiling in a glass case, I asked Dale if it ran? He brought it down and started it!! It smoked quite a bit and set off the fire alarm. The fire department showed up!
