Great video. Mo'ne was my daughter's coach at the MLB Trailblazers Series a couple weeks ago. She is an amazing role model for any young athlete. I'm grateful my kid had a chance to learn from her

Beautiful human being, right there. Confident but humble, mature even under pressure, "big picture" thinker that is competitive, but still kind. Her folks did a good job.

This woman is incredible. I remember watching her games and all of her fame. She handled that so much better than 99.99% of us ever could. She's an inspiration just like Caitlyn Clark and I'm looking forward to seeing more incredible women athletes in the future.

Mone was a badass athlete competing against boys...until the boys hit puberty and achieved muscular and skeletal growth. She is still a solid athlete but can't hold a candle to men at her level(NCAA). Nature and Biology has limitations.

My sister played little league in the 1980s. She was the best on her team. Played center field. She was no Mo'ne, but she was very good. In high school, the coach refused to let her try out for baseball. Our parents had her back and the school forced him, but she didn't make the team. She's pretty sure she was better than half the players and I believe her, but the coach said she wasn't good enough. People told her to play softball, but she refused. Nothing against softball, but it is a different sport and she didn't want to play it. She was captain of the soccer and basketball teams and played nothing during baseball season.

Because she wasn't good enough. The best female baseball player I know, I mean this is a person who absolutely rakes against other women player plays a full two levels below me in the mens competition. If we had her facing the high 80's low 90's we have to face it would be a miracle if she even fouled the ball

@@Toast2005 Nobody at my high school was throwing high 80s low 90s. My sister was about average among a high school that wasn't particularly known for sports. She also would have happily played on girls baseball... but there was no girls baseball. Softball is a different game. She played on the girls teams in basketball and soccer with no issue and captained both of them.

You just sound insecure dude literally upset dudes sister was good at sports 40 years ago.

@@Toast2005 Maybe they were. I'm not an athlete. My father was good enough to play minor league ball (he got offered by the New York Giants, but his dad sent him to military school instead, which he said was the right decision in the end because there's no way he was good enough to make Willie Mays' Giants and he would have gone to Vietnam instead of the merchant Marines). My sister inherited his athletic skills. I did not. I played on the ultimate Frisbee team and we weren't good. Also, this was as a Freshman. I don't think any of the freshmen trying out for JV were throwing that fast. Once she stopped playing on a team, she didn't try out again. She made varsity pretty early on her other teams, but not as a freshman.

If there's anywhere in sports women can compete with men it's here. At 13 Davis was essentially a fully grown woman. She pretty much was at the same level as the boys. A few years down the line though it essentially becomes impossible for women to compete
@ibrown3KC
@ibrown3KC 15 күн бұрын
Exactly. Because gals develop physically (and mentally) at least a year or two earlier than guys. So as you said, she was essentially a grown woman at the age, where as most of thr guys wouldn't even be near their grown height and certainly not their full grown weight for another 3 or 4 years, ie, until they were 15 or 16. And most the guys here were 12 while she was 13. So she had a year on them to make things even more uneven in her favor. Then you see here when guys catch up and she's.... nothing

The thing about Females is that they can be competitive as teenagers but we all know the muscle differences after the grow spurts… I doubt a woman could ever reach 90 MPH fast ball at least for the next 50 years or so.
