If you say so... I'm pretty cynical, and boy, do I ❤ politicians, but I personally think our government is a mixed bag with a lot of interests, some more special than others. I'd optimistically like to think that foreign policy is a game of chess. Trying to influence/foster stability for reasons of national interests in an inherently unstable world/region is a very messy business. If it were all about arms sales, then wouldn't we sell to anyone indiscriminately? There have to be other motives. Otherwise, self-preservation would not be a priority, and we probably wouldn't be here.

In Honduras we know the truth, this man is innocent and the actual goverment is a big family cartel, the castro zelaya cartel, the son of mel zelaya was a close friend of el chapo guzman and his uncle carlos zelaya is the head of the traffic dristribution, in the begining of 2023 in january a son of porfirio lobo (former president) was murder in the parking of a discotech in Tegucigalpa by a policemen command and the order was given by Héctor zelaya, son of mel zelaya and in that moment head of the defense ministry.

This isn't the first time our country has shaken hands with a leader of a Central American country only to take that leader out for trafficking later. Our presidents knew all the dirty deeds this guy was up to, and they knew it when they shook hands. In 1989 we invaded Panama to arrest their president Manuel Noriega on charges of trafficking. Our presidents also knew all of Noriega's dirty deeds when they shook hands. I wonder how Panama would've reacted had they known at the time that Noriega was on the CIA's payroll.? Our government has been complicit in trafficking for decades in both democrat and republican administrations.
