That was some outstanding horsemanship! Notice how calm and in control the 2nd roper who brought her to the trailer was. He put everyone, including the mule at ease. That's the skill of a true to heart cowboy. I certainly hope he trains for a living. He'd be great at it.

The horse people comments are the very best on KZbin. They act like this is a professional mule catching team and "these guys don't know what they are doing." Of course the bit witches have to chime in and then there are 150 comments about all their bona fides and how long they have been riding, bra size, etc. The My Little Pony crowd shows up to say they should have walked up and gave it hug. I'd bet 99% don't even own a rope, much less ever thrown a loop, but feel qualified to critique. They did get the mule into the trailer.

The one voice of reason in the cancerous congregation of horse crazies, it seems I can never go into a roping or rodeo related video’s comment section without some self-proclaimed experts telling everyone that techniques developed over hundreds of years are some how wrong and need to be stopped entirely; absolutely ridiculous... like anyone ever listens to them anyway. All they do is piss everyone off.

Jessica Baamonde Since I ride only 2 horses, I only have 2 bridles. Both fit. One is bitless and the other one isn’t. I ride both bitless and with bit. I prefer riding with a bit, but sometimes I ride bitless for fun. Not all bits are harmful and cause pain. The bit I use is horse friendly. I asked before i bought it. So PLEASE think again before saying I like pain.

Nicely done. And folks, unless you know how to push a rope, you need two ropes to prevent the mule from darting in front of or behind your first horse, tangling the rope and causing a wreck. With two ropes you can walk it in lined out between the two horses just as they did. All was accomplished quietly and efficiently. Even a lap dog pet horse is going to be tanked up and hard to catch if it's loose in a strange place. As you can see when they got it back to the trailer the little mule was quiet and seemed to lead OK. Well done.

My granddad, a Wyoming cowboy, always told me he much preferred mules to horses for riding. A mule has sense and if you had too much to drink at the barn dance lay across his back and you will get home. They are less prone to running into fences and breaking their necks if they spook. I was on a trail ride with a friend in northern Texas. She was riding a well seasoned cowpony and I was riding Pretty Boy Floyd, her mule. We came up on a gully and surprised a mountain lion eating a rabbit. The lion took off in one direction, and our mounts took off in the opposite direction. But the horse bolted all the 2 miles back to the house in 105F temperatures. My mule bolted a few yards, looked back over his shoulder, saw the threat was gone, and calmly went back to a walk.

Little known fact most mature mules can outrun and outlast any horse. A friend of mine lived in Kansas and a neighbor that lived close to him had basically 30 feral horses and 10 mules. When the old man died with the mules and horses the Cowboys rounded up and caught the horses without much trouble the mules on the other hand would jump the fence and head for Nebraska when they pulled up with the horse trailers,it was hilarious it took them four months to catch the mules and then they had to spend a lot of time and money on a trap! After about a month a vet suggested they just shoot the mules which of course went over none to well with the city people that got involved after the story went viral!! I would call him every week and ask him catch the mules yet?? He started getting tired of that question!! Haha

Recovering Soul While barefooting is considered the idea for horses, there are times when shoes are necessary. Horses that pull abnormal amounts of weight require shoes to prevent their hoofs from wearing down. Shoes are often used to protect racing horses that have weak hoof or leg muscles. They are also used to give horses extra traction in the snow and ice. Plus, overgrown and cracked hooves are very bad and can kill the horse due to infection.

Why make the mule more nervous and agitated? She needs time to relax, understand that people aren’t going to hurt her. At leastShe needed to walk back to the barn after she’d been roped.made no sense to canter back and rush to contain her. A little patience and calm goes a long way when dealing with a nervous/frightened equine.

I don’t blame the mule for trying to escape most Amish people treat their animals like shit! Never buy a puppy from these kind of people either it’s not that your being racist it’s the fact that these people don’t care for their animals most of the time.
@kyndalls.98756 жыл бұрын
Labrador Paradise My obsession with labs oh ya as if. I know several Amish people, it appears to be a very popular mith that Amish abuse their animals. These animals are their partners, they need them to make a living. To train a horse it might not be as gentle as what you people like but it’s not abuse, they stick a saddle on and ride the horse until it stops bucking and knows who’s boss, from their they train it to do things and they do reward the animal when it does things correct.
@labrakadabra90266 жыл бұрын
Well it's true they don't treat their animals good it's proven so many puppy mills hidden!
@kyndalls.98756 жыл бұрын
Labrador Paradise Oh, well I guess anyone breeding and selling puppies without a permit is an abuser! Just because they are doing it illegally doesn’t mean it’s abuse, it means they aren’t spending $300 to get a permit. These people make a living with their animals so they are going to treat them very well. The dogs are pets, just like with anyone else, they are also security and bark when someone shows up.

The point of catching any animal that gets loose is to catch it as quickly and humanely as you can BEFORE they run out into a road and collide with a vehicle. If you try to walk down that mule, you're going to be out there all night and about 5 miles behind it. And animals that are loose and scared don't always come for grain, tame or not. These guys did OK.
