I appreciate you watching, and thank you for the kind words! I am personally a big fan of Legacy, and it's the WotC format that I revisit the most often these days, but I have no interest in it whatsoever in its current form. I have tried making Legacy videos twice already, and I just got t1 Griefed at least twice per video. When something changes I may dive in again.

Hi, again a good Video with a cool deck. Last weekend I went with some friends, 6 in total, to a bigger Tournament in Darmstadt here in Germany. Over 100 players and I choose zu play BW Control. The maindeck was pretty standard, but my sideboard was a littlebit wild. I went 5-2 in the swiss rounds an didnt made the cut for the top 8. But 2 of my friends did, one became second place and the other 8th. I became 12th. I won vs Contamination Control, the Mirror, Stiflenought, TerraOath, the Rock and lost to Enchantress and Burn - which was unfortunately the round I had to take several mulligans both games and it cost me the top 8. Still a Great weekend and the deck was a blast to play. If you are intetested I can write down my decklist.

Spicy list with some really underrated cards. Cloak is so good in a lot of matchups.
@fpawluszmtg
@fpawluszmtg 3 ай бұрын
Cloak certainly does a ton of work! I feel like a new version of this deck with Carnophages and Sarcomancy could be much better than this, having a 4/4 lifelinker on turn 3 will probably beat a significant amount of decks.

@@fpawluszmtg yeah I was thinking something like that, I was thinking of sylvan safekeeper which is really good in the bogles deck or mother of runes if the mana base can support it.
@fpawluszmtg
@fpawluszmtg 3 ай бұрын
@@IPlayMagic Mom is a no-no because you will often be facing Swords, and that makes your Cloak fall off. I thought of Safekeeper, but it feels a bit awkward because it being a 1/1 is such low power by itself, so at that point it's just a protection spell and requires another creature to put the pants on, feels like too much work...
@IPlayMagic
@IPlayMagic 3 ай бұрын
@@fpawluszmtg I’m not sure about this deck but safekeeper is really good in bogles, if you’re playing 4 rancor and 4 cloak then even a 3 power guy attacking early is surprisingly good in a lot of matchups especially because people don’t know how to play vs safekeeper and it really messes them up
@fpawluszmtg

@@IPlayMagic When I build decks I completely ignore arguments such as "people don't know how to play against it" when choosing the cards I want to include. I want my cards to be good when my opponents know how to play against them! But if the card turns out to be good (which I really doubt) then I'll happily play it. If we go down on green early drops and up on black ones then I am not excited about adding them again since it'll make building the mana base that much harder.

I feel like if you go to sarcomancy route, I think you should consider playing a drinker of sorrow. Sacrificing the sarcomancy is so much value and you'll have 3 to 4 rancor to back the drinker up. His downside is less taxing that the negator but maybe I fear the downside of the negator too much.
@fpawluszmtg
@fpawluszmtg 3 ай бұрын
I am honestly not sure. a 5/5 trampler is much, much better than a 5/3 without built in evasion. Drinker feels more like a "combo piece" in that it needs to be enabled by a Rancor style card. It's definitely worth exploring either way!

was seeing what you mean about lands over the birds, but maybe some missed opportunities to suit up the bird with flying for beats here and there? i wonder about keeping the birds but making a few cuts for some treetop villages or factories?
@fpawluszmtg
@fpawluszmtg 3 ай бұрын
Treetop we may be able to make room, though if we cut BoP now Green is left as a support color, which makes having lands that only produce G very costly. And at that point we'd be taking damage every time we are activating... Factory would be good, but it doesn't help the already steep mana requirements this deck has, so I'm skeptical.

There is a 5c version of this deck, which is an entirely different animal. In fact, I drew too much from that deck, and this deck should not be playing Birds, for example. I discuss this at the end of the video.
@CarloGoiff666

I think i got it. You should first play with the deck and get familiar with it before recording. Why would people be interested in someone playing a deck in a wrong way? its better to know beforehand what to do against certain matches and how to sideboard.
@fpawluszmtg

I think a lot of people are interested in the process since it inspires them to explore and make further changes, especially in the Premodern community. In fact, all the videos where I am trying out new and whacky stuff are usually the ones that get the most views and likes, so the data supports that.

I understood that you didn't like bird... I don't understand what is wrong with them. You want to make your combo with the maximum amount of mana ASAP, you play a lot of 3 drops... So if birds are bad, why they wouldnt be bad in fire of yavimaya deck, survival, aluren ect
@NormalTheBand
@NormalTheBand 3 ай бұрын
Because those are wildly different decks. As he explained, birds is not where he wants to be in this deck. Birds ramp you and fix you colors of mana. This is an aggro deck, not ramp and not 5 color deck. By adding aggro creatures, that fits with what the deck is trying to do. Birds accomplishes a gameplan that is tangential to the gameplan of this deck
@fpawluszmtg
@fpawluszmtg 3 ай бұрын
I want to build this deck as an aggro deck. Bird is not the most aggressive card. In a deck like Fires is ramping you into playing Blastoderms and Saproling Bursts ahead of time. Here you can't really feel the effect of a bird because the curve tops at 3.... On top of that, as far as the combo goes Bird doesn't even speed it up... Whether you have BoP or not you cannot deploy the combo earlier than turn 3.
