And the lessons learned by some were key in the development of the video game test that resulted in finding a star fighter pilot and defeat Xur and the codan armada.

Attention parents, when is the last time you asked your child for his/her opinion on an important Family Matter? Give it a try, you might be pleasantly surprised and it could possibly strengthen your family unit!😮😊

Kids know way more than many parents think...

I agree, and not just from the idea of getting a solution or answer from an unexpected source like a child or teenager either. This is a nurturing and teaching opportunity for a parent. Just by including and asking, followed by listening and considering, you are fostering an environment that helps the child to believe in themself and learn that it's ok to tackle problems. If the child's idea won't work, don't crush the child's spirit by just dismissing the idea as it won't work. Rather, take the time to explain why in a manner that respects the child's attempting at contributing, while encouraging further consideration on the issue until a solution is found. This helps teach the child to be a problem solver by teaching that it's ok to be wrong, just learn and try again.

This reminds me of a story of a kid and a truck that was 2 inches to high to make it under the bridge. It would take weeks and millions of dollars to reroute the truck. There was a lot of engineers trying to solve the problem. It was holding up traffic and a 4 year old kid got out of the car and ask what the hold up. The engineer told him as a lark what the problem was. The kid said without a second thought let the air out of the tires drive it under the bridge and put the air back in. That is what they did and it worked. The only dumb idea is one not shared because it may solve the problem.

❤ I we have started to be more inclusive of young people in our governance and in our scientific exploration. We need to continue this and expand on it. I have always talked to the young people in my family from the time they're very very small until adulthood and they have amazing ideas they have curiosity and they have no limitations on what they consider. They also are very compassionate that's their natural way of being and so when they talk about what to do as a solution to a problem they come up with really good ones. So thank you very much for this story I'm really enjoying it and I will continue to listen to your stories

A good story, but too much repetition towards the end. Sometimes as many as three or four times.

That was an excellent story. I've read quite a few allegories on the inclusion of neglected demographics in political spaces, but this one is a new favorite. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find a link to the original post. I would like to offer my compliments to the author.

This was a good story but IMHO it left out a major component. Besides a throwaway line about Jamie's father solving puzzles, nothing about his family was mentioned. I know the point of the story was Jamie solving the puzzle and setting in motion all the changes in the galactic council. It would have taken very little effort from the writer to mention how one or both of his parents were with him during his experiences dealing with the council and other speices. The type of young people they wanted to reach out to, need a sound upbringing to foster the qualities they were looking for.

It’s a school field trip… they are at home.

Agreed, I found the lack of his family being mentioned noticeable. The beginning with him on a field trip was understandable. I know the rest of the narrative was focused on the results of his feat, but a line or two about how his parent(s) were there to support him and give emotional support would have been nice. They missed the opportunity for Jamie to acknowledge his parents having a positive affect on him during his speech. They also missed the opportunity to show his parents being at his side during his involvement with the new youth programs. This is something that the writer needs to address in future stories in my opinion.

I don't think 🤔 that this is a message that a child should rule, only that sometimes a wise leader must make a decision, based on the innocent view of a child. Not biased and bitter with politics and prejudice.
