For those curious, British people call meatballs meatballs. We don't have a specific word for meatballs other than meatballs. We have different names for different kind of meatballs, just like every country does, just like we have different names for different types of sausages but still call them sausages. But I think the chatter was referring to one particular type of high offal, breadcrumb and crumbly meatball. But you would not use that word to describe any meatball other than that specific kind of meatball.
