Youre really right about the stock photos not doing this guy justice. The whip looked so dumb there, but it looks fantastic in hand. For a character that never transformed in the film, the posing is fire. I'm definitely grabbing a couple when i find them

Personally, the robot mode for Scorponok reminds me of Scorponok from RID 2015 with the way that his beast mode claws end up on his shoulders in robot mode and that he keeps his scorpion tail in both modes.

2007 deluxe is still a lot of fun, with a neat and functional scorpion mode. Update looks a lot more organic than mechanical, and a lot scarier. Props for a decent/articulate bot even though it uses the same head in both configurations. The muted colors feel very close to the upcoming concept art Shockwave which isn't bad could just be bit more vibrant. Still looks like a worthwhile, and fun SS pickup.

His shoulders remind me of a mount in WoW. It's a flying wolf mount and it has shoulder armor on its wings. On the shoulder pads are curved spikes. Every time the wings flap, the spikes stab the poor creature in the back

Wasn't too interested in this figure buy I am a lot more interested now! That articulation and posing looks superb and I love the 07 movie references, but I adore that paint scheme. The navy blue and the lavender looks so good together, and is actually a color unlike the Maximals. It would be so cool if those SS maximal golds got repainted, with some red, white, and blue on Primal, gold and white on a grey Airazor, baby blue or purple a yellow Cheetor, and green on a brown Rhinox.

He wasn’t purple in the movie, and this figure also has gold on the chest, so the figure is more a mashup of the Beast Wars character with the mindless Unicron army. You could therefore head-canon it as a Knight-verse Beast Wars Scorponok.

This figure really pleasantly surprised me, for what is ostensbly a troop filler he has alot of personality packed into him, and his transformation is really creative. I personally like to fanmode his legs to give him chicken legs that make him taller and look even more dynamic in poses but either way he rocks. Only thing I'd ask for is more posability in the tail
