I can't really speak about humans thousands of years ago but there's no doubt people have had to eat meat to survive, especially in specific conditions. But at this current time if you look at the biology of the human race we are actually herbivores, and some would even argue fruigivors I believe they say. From our teeth to our digestive system it ends up meat is actually rather bad for us and our body simply cannot handle it very well. To add onto this simply look at our bodily features. We have hands and feet rather than claws to hunt and kill, teeth to eat fruit and vegetables. In the wild with nothing but the skin on our back humans simply make terrible hunters, whereas every other species which eats meat all manage just fine because they are carnivores. I'm not here to argue ethics because thats simply subjective, I'm just stating the science and you can make what you want of it.

I'm vegetarian and my bf is a big meat lover (like most people i know). He never disrespects my food choices and i never disrespect his. It's really not complicated. I also appreciate it a lot when he cooks for me. Since my whole family eats meat i am used to having a dish in which the meat can be supplemented (so like no meat in the sauce, but one single piece of meat for the meat eaters or so). It's not hard. If you love your partner and your family and you respect them and their choices, there's always a way

As Luca's joke was about the woman's biological clock I continued on this vein and assumed that we were discussing her 'prime' in terms of her ability to have children and her sexual appeal.
