In April Fool's Day (2008 remake), my back was killing me, so I decided to do a scene sitting down. There was a dolly track facing me, and one passing by, so I knew I would be in the shot. Since I didn't want to get up again, I decided to go with a sitting, drunk guy conducting to the music. If you've seen the movie, you know the scene. When I was playing Det. Tom Bernciff on Atlanta Homicide, we had one of the cops AND the director leave suddenly. I had to learn her sides in 30 minutes, but taking her role didn't fit mine, so we had to ad lib an interim scene to tie it all together. We self-directed and did the whole thing in one take. I miss that show.

It was a stunt man who ran across the backs of the crocodiles all were fake apart from one, and it wasn’t as straight forward as you just explained, I think it was over thirty attempts to get that right and a few times he was attacked by the real crocodile
@papasmurf91464 ай бұрын
The behind the scenes of that Bond movie was well worth watching. It's been too long to remember the details, but your description is pretty close to what I remember. I think the first time, just to show it was doable, woke the crocodiles up to what was happening -- making subsequent attempts much more dangerous. The other thing from the behind the scenes was while they were between takes, Moore was talking to the owner of the crocodile farm (who had inherited from his father). At one point, the man points to a croc and says, "that one ate my pa."
@mikkelbreiler89164 ай бұрын
Oh yeah the owner of the crocodile filled property says "Nah you don't want a boat, just run (fast) on the backs of my crocs." For sure. We do not see Roger Moore run, but only someones legs. I think the property owner was daring the production team but they actually found a stunt man willing to do it this - for enough money. And I always thought that shot was of mechanics/puppet crocs.
@IAPPEARINVISIBLE3 ай бұрын
You can bet that ain't Roger More. Yeah, me too, I remember saying..."You can tell they(the crocs) are fake because they're all lined up in a perfect row and all move the same." They especially look fake in the shot over not Roger Moore's shoulder just as he starts to run. I was so sure...lol
@Rocketsong3 ай бұрын
@@IAPPEARINVISIBLE It is not Roger. It's his stunt double. Somewhere on youtube is are the out-takes. As I recall it took 6 takes. It is apparently, much harder to run across crocs than the owner implied.

Once upon a time at the age of 14 I learned to be a part of a Texico Service team. Imagine not having to pump your own gas and to get your windshield cleaned for free. That oil was checked as well as the fan belts too. Check the tire pressure? No problem. 🙂
