The simplest prayer is to say, "Thank you God." Thank Him for everything even through trials and tribulations because everything is a blessingI I don't even use words when I pray. I telepathically pray in silence, stillness and humbleness. Majestic John, I am grateful to you.🙏

Very well said. Even when I can't think of the right words to say, I still feel comforted in knowing that God still understands what's on my heart, and each and every little thing that's troubling me. He understands it all, and He takes it from my hands. God never gives us what He knows we can't handle, and I'm forever grateful for His grace and love. ❤️

I lost my wife a few years back Salli, she died in my arms in the I.C.U with two little boys to raise on my own... Went six months for an autopsy report to learn she had un-diagnosed Cancer. It was hard and telling the little guys that there Mommy is Gone almost killed me. But do know, I clung even harder to my Faith and his presence was always with me. I found comfort in knowing that when I cried, he cried with me, when I grieved he grieved with me. Seek the help you need to overcome your grief and it is reassuring there are others who are with you and experiencing your Pain.Lean on him for he is indeed a close friend in our most troubling moments. The boys today are well adjusted young men and I have been blessed much with a wonderfull women(currently with Covid) but know soon over it and engaged to be married this Fall. I now have 2 daughters as well;) Know you are Loved.

20 min in the morning, find a private room, and pray the Jesus prayer. In the evening, find a private place and pray the Jesus prayer. If you can avoid intoxicants, that will help. "Go beyond" even applies to the images and sounds that may arise in your mind as you pray. You may find it handy to keep.a notebook and pen to jot down what is in your mind after you sit. Have you found his video where he prays with a group? I think it is called The Jesus Prayer. They have an asmr version which is helpful. I am sorry you are suffering. The world can be a rough place. I am glad you are finding your true home in God. 🙏 A happy and blessed Easter to you.🐇🐣🕊Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me a sinner.

John, your videos on prayer and meditation have been a wonderful resource for me. I am a teacher, who works with young teens, and my job is naturally very loud. After 10-12 of teaching, coaching, and grading, I was literally hearing the classroom noise when I closed my eyes. Learning to come to stillness and be in the present has made a tremendous difference to me. God has always been present to me in stillness, and I realized after this video that meditation also served as my prayer, as well.

I like these videos because you have to *really* listen. Sometimes I catch my mind drifting, rewind the video, and refocus my brain. Very good for training the mind to be patient. Anyone can hear anything, but few people have the skill to listen. Listening is a skill you practice. Thank you for this quiet time John. I'm sat here with my prayer beads and I will find stillness and pray. Be grounded and stable when you pray, you can't be frantic. Prayer is like a phone call, and the quieter your mind, the stronger the signal. Love you my friend. ❤️‍🩹🤗

@ScriptureNest oh man, it’s hard being a Christian
@amoodyb
@amoodyb 2 жыл бұрын
@ScriptureNest It means I will go to hell. I try to not sin, but it’s easy for me to get scared. Now, that’s my fault. Every sin is a sin no matter what, but what I mean with me is that my sins are more like emotions. I have fear, and I don’t want my pride anymore. I doubt so much, so it’s been hard for me in that way. I don’t want to go to hell, but at the same time, I feel like it’s not a good reason to follow Jesus because I don’t want to go to hell. Hell is scary, but I think it’s important to follow Him because of who He is. This is probably a lot to take in, but I just wanted to say this. I think about the afterlife, and no I don’t want to suffer anymore. I feel like I’ve taken advantage of God’s grace so much.
@amoodyb
@amoodyb 2 жыл бұрын
@ScriptureNest My friends have told me to repent, and so I try to change but what comes to my mind often is, “Am I actually changing?” One of my other sins is that I get impatient. I wasn’t always like this. I didn’t care about God before, but now, I’m wondering almost every moment of my day if I’m doing something wrong.

Phil and John, thanks so much for the walk under the tree so so so so beautiful and yellow lovelies , called flowers , along the way...John, i pray you live long enough to where you have to 'use' that railing on your left as you come walking in past the wonderful gravestones...as a Catholic kid i was taught there are petitionary and non petitionary prayer...i do petitionary prayer now and then ASKING for something like don't let my daughter die, or let my niece not die, or give me good health, or let there be world piece, or let people take their masks off, or let me find a good job and / or get a good night's sleep...i do joy in petitionary prayer with 'no expectations' always ending or thinking to end the prayer with 'Thy Will Be Done'... ...the definitions below are from Websters...for me, each breath is a prayer especially as i center in breath or breath centers in me...the more i center (or just be feet on ground butt in chair) the more i am praying or i am being prayed, so to speak...prayer isn't something i do as much as something i 'get into to' is that makes sense...i like 'request' or 'EXPRESSION'...expressing and impressing...expressing is quite 'selfish prayer' like petitionary prayer is selfish as if 'God' didn't know what to 'do'...for me 'life' is known on the Winds of the All Knowing but not 'determined' just known by design......i don't 'hope' anymore but i 'know' and 'believe'...i don't hope there will be world peace or hope my daughter is happy and successful but i 'know' and / or 'believe' she is successful...i know there will be world piece or believe there will be...'hope' is a despair reaction whereas 'belief' and 'knowing' are a 'centering'...an ongoing APPRECIATION and IMMERSION in natural stillness and 'oneness' is prayer...but the lowest prayer is a asking or petitioning to have things go the way i want them to...i do engage in that daily asking for 'nice things and stuff' but i know how self centered that is...and i guess knowing i'm self centered is prayer enough...what?...thanks you guys...again, thanks for the walk...i just stop the video as John is walking under the tree and love you guys and what you are doing and have done...a couple years from now both of you will be using that railing to be able to support yourselves so you can walk...i trust and pray a long and lovely life for yous...thanks "a solemn request for help or expression of thanks addressed to God or an object of worship. "I'll say a prayer for him" a religious service, especially a regular one, at which people gather in order to pray together. "500 people were detained as they attended Friday prayers" an earnest hope or wish. "it is our prayer that the current progress on human rights will be sustained"

You're the very image of the person that I hope to be someday. At this point in my life I've been in so many relationships, I finished college, own a home now, and what I find is that none of these things that you think will make you happy ever do. I think that happiness starts with inner peace, and inner peace starts with letting go of the past and the future and simply accepting the present and being okay with it. I think that you have mastered that kind of inner, and that's what I want more than fame, or fortune, or more sex, or more money. I think that the greatest thing I hope for in life is just to have a mentality of unshakable peace. Most people never find it.

Prayer is an interesting one.I think deep down we all know that it is a useless and futile attempt to bring into being a result we want. Praying for the well being of others won't change the outcome. We know this. Yet prayer as an action we do individually helps prove to ourselves our own sense of moral authentication. We pray for the well being of others, therefore we must be a good person. When a loved one is ill and we haven't spent the best part of our lives studying medicine and how to cure illnesses, we may start feeling a little useless. We still wish to somehow contribute to their much hoped for recovery but we can't do a single thing about the reality of the situation. So we desperately turn to a wholly unrealistic solution and we get down on our knees, and we place our hands together and we look up to the sky and visualise something beyond it looking upon us, forever ready to listen. Then we do it again the next day and the next day treating God as if they have dementia and we ask for the same thing over and over again until the person recovers or dies anyway. If they survive, our prayers have somehow worked and we cry and thank the Lord for granted our wish. If they die, we quickly rationalise that it was God's plan all along. But at least you tried...

@@PraisingWithFriends Maybe. But then aren't most church services predominantly petition in that case? Grant us this, grant us that. Isn't conversation supposed to be two ways, with involvment from both parties? Prayer in that case sounds like simple self reflection.

Stop focusing on the problem, only focus on the outcome you desire. It is pure physics, for God is the quantum field, that pure stillness John raves about. Not some guy in the sky, that you need saved by Jesus. Every great master learned to make still his mind, and only place in thought that which he wanted to manifest. In that stillness called God, is an observer. A potential for all life. It sees your thoughts and desires, then changes itself in frequency to match what it sees. First you must hold the thought to the exclusion of all others. Why do you think it says "Be still, and Know that I Am God" Focus on the out come you desire. John has yet you learn the powerful disciplines that Jesus taught. He is against focusing apparently. Letting your mind wonder and looking at everything is counter to what connects one with the greater mind. It is focused thought into the void. John is a great old man that has learned a lot about himself, that is our goal. To know self at the most intimate level, it is there we find God as ourself. It is pure oneness. You cannot be separate from God. It is impossible, for what did the consciousness called God make all life from, including the dust of the earth? There is only one answer, and that is itself. You are a spark of God, you are consciousness inextricably combined with energy.

I used to be so close to god. Praying every night and loving reading the bible. Everything seemed to just fall into its place, it all made sense. I feel like I've lost this. When I try to pray I end up zoning out and just going to look at my phone again. The constant stimulation has screwed my attention span, killed my social life, and extremely damaged my motivation. I just pray for everyone out there that they dont fall into the trap I have. I especially pray for next generation, were screwed. To anyone that will listen, avoid pornography with all of your heart, and dont fall into the mindless cycle of tik tok or Instagram reels. Read your bible every night and dont lose that habit. Take care of your body and your mind, and they will take care of you. May the lord Jesus keep us all on the path he has laid out for us. Dont let us stray our own way

I was in a difficult situation and I just thought, I do as you say, get quiet,listen, Thanks again John and Phil,Greetings Maria from Holland

I wonder if he can remember at all anymore just how often he has repeated himself. Besides, how can creation _be_ perfect if _I_ am part of it and _I_ project the imperfection. If manifestation was perfect, there should be no such I which projects imperfection. It begs the question and answers nothing.

Spring in the parish. I am so glad to see the Ukrainian flag with offerings of daffodils. Enjoy the spring blossoms, John! I dare say the blossoms are giving your cheeks a rosy glow. :)

Ok. That's may work for one's own problems. If I gaze too much in my problems they grow bigger; if I look at them from an higher point of view (an higher level of consciousness), they eventually vanish. But what about the prayer for another one's problems? That's the point, mr Butler. The others, our brothers, not we. What have your wisdom to say about? Because, when bad things happens to our brothers, it is of little use an higher level of consciousness which lead ourselves to a more serene state of the mind, a more comprehensive vision of the world: I dare to say it's a selfish vision: it's their burden that we must care of, not the shadow which it cast upon our little insignificant life.

Prayer is something that has to do with having a relationship with Jesus and kind of having a conversation with Him and it is to bring your problems your fears your doubts to Jesus’ feet

Maybe it's not so much that the world is an illusion but that's it's just not what we think it is, not as it seems.

I pray for thanks, for healing, for others for when I'm troubled, for forgiveness or just to say 👋. I am by no means perfect or holier than thou, but prayer keeps me strong and sane, whatever the outcome because it is the communication with God that keeps me connected.

Is mr Butler sure an Anglican? He seems to have an almost mystic relationship with the divine that can be found only in Eastern Orhtodoxy.

Strictly speaking, I don’t know if he is orthodox. But he did mention that he went to Russia and was inspired by the orthodox.
