Alliance server do offer easy money, rep and commendations, however it allows players to enjoy the game and have some fun without the possibility of getting it all taken away, I played regular sot for a while now and just started playing on alliance servers. It’s not cause im scared of encountering other players and can’t fight, I just simply don’t want to have to sit on my boat looking into the horizon every 5 seconds. I would be willing to do more pvp if people actually had loot but the only people that try to sink me are people who go on a server look for a reaper V and then camp reapers hideout, if people actually learned to get their own loot and came across me I would be more willing to pvp. People say that alliance servers ruin the game because u are playing a pirate game and there is supposed to be risk involved. Real pirates rarely even came across each other and if they did they would most likely not fight each other, the last thing that they would do is try to sink each others ships.

Any slur of any kind is a guaranteed ban if it gets clipped and reported, it’s like the one thing they can actually moderate. If you want to be truly 5 million IQ, whenever you’re fighting people you don’t like: hot mic over voice chat that you’re gender nonconforming and that you’re reporting them to Rare, 9 times out of 10 they call you a slur that you can clip and ship and they’re yellow bearded in less than a day.

I've played the game since 2018(xbox) 2019 onward(PC) and I've done it all at this point, got most of the heavy hitting achievements, been in every anniversary bar the first and played on alliance servers etc. I've seen the game at it's peak and its lowest moment and in my opinion alliance servers and their toxicity will be the final nail in the coffin come the games eventual passing. Pirates that can't fight against others and actively throw slurs when they're being sank are the worst in the community not the people that sink the servers themselves.

I don’t get mad at alliance servers. Those players will always be victims. Always be scanning the horizon in fear, because they can’t fight and they never learned. They’re depriving themselves of the best part of the game. Never developing the core skills like double gunning or good naval tactics and aim. Imagine being terrified to log in without your alliance kitties to support you. That must be exhausting. It’s sad, really. They’ll get the end game content and it’ll taste bland and boring, because they didn’t really earn those end game cosmetics. Ironically they’re only ruining the organic structure of this game for themselves.

I am torn on opinion. I myself prefer the vanilla experience of always glancing to your horizons and listening for the sounds of sneaky boarding attempt, no matter when or where you are. However, once in a blue moon, I go to an alliance server just to vibe. I’ve met some cool people on a few servers, and some of them I still get to hang out with every now and again. I mostly just liked seeing how people wanted to go about their sailing. It always amused me when they would go so close to an “allied” ship with no fear, and they called me a pessimist for always having my pockets loaded and ready for a fight. Not gonna lie, I was always hoping to witness someone portal hop in and try to take the server head on. Never got to witness it myself, but various KZbin videos show it has happened and definitely can be done :) That said… I really heavily lean to the opinion of “alliance servers are unhealthy”… it isn’t how the game was meant to play. I think, should pve servers occur, it should definitely be a no gold, no rep reward… one example: a world/server just for tall tales. Alas, those count toward seasonal rep and they DO grant rewards. So it’s a slippery slope to be sure. That being said… wow. Mass reporting a player for actively playing the game. What a pain it is, especially since rare has shown to not really care in the past about reports :x

I was in requiem one time way back and there was a rogue sloop going about sinking everyone, they had me invite their “professional crew” to spawncamp the sloop and make them leave, ig there is like a list of people on standby waiting to join to take down the rogue and oh my lord they were dog, chances are in one of these videos sinking requiem they invited some of them in attempt to sink you but didn’t 😭. Pretty sure Rare has gone on record saying that "official PvE servers" would never happen. "Allience servers", when they happen organically, are fine, but paid/staged allience servers aren't and I'm almost certain Rare took some people down for it.

My buddy and I have been theorizing about the state of the game and Rares stance on things. Although they might publicly come out and say this game is not a PvE game they sure do like to add shit that is only PvE centered. The vast majority of players think this game is a PvE game and it is the pvp people that are in the minority. Makes sense to cater only to the fans that make up most of the community.
