I love that we get to hear about this professor and his work precisely because he followed the Taoist principle of we-wei, or non-action, in his own work. Without a sense of direction or even a job, he simply pursued what he was interested in, and that work garnered the recognition that turned into the position that is the reason we are now hearing about his work!
