When Soviet Union was a thing, my father was part of a tank/infantry training in russia. There was a tank assault and infantry had to put up smokes and take positions, one guy's equipment failed and also the radio did not work. So he took a shovel and ran towards the tanks, waving the shovel so that the tanks would notice him, and not drive over him. Later when training had concluded my father recalled how the commander went up to the guy who had waved his shovel and said. "It's not up to me but I would give you a medal for trying to attack a tank with a shovel."

with all due respect (these videos are great) there is nothing historically significant about random war stories. Do you better understand the context leading up to the conflict, or its effects on the world? do you better understand the unique ideologies of the nations at war? while stories like this are very fun, they are not "real history"; they are entertainment.
