This conversation strongly implies that Bodger knows he’s an NPC. So, he’s either an adventurer that mastered the game and has retired as an NPC … or he was always an NPC, and he doesn’t care that he basically lives in the Matrix, because he’s happy with his life.

Ben totally missed the optional reward, too. When Bodger responds that he's on his lunch break and to meet him in fifteen minutes, you can scroll down a bit and it'll have a response that says "Oh, that's fine, I'll swing by in an hour or so, don't rush on my account. Have a good lunch, Bodger!" Then when you show up later, he gives you a necklace of psychic damage negation which is perfect for the High Monks of Herkspire questline.

I expected him getting some trash reward, and later he complains to other adventurer that the reward was so bad for difficult quest, and the other adventurer is like "what? I got the flaming sledgehammer of Shmorgot! Very important special weapon that allows you to destroy the door of doom and it unlocks whole quest line! Plus stats are great!". He then looks at Bodger, and Bodger says "I had it in MY FREAKING HUT, but nooo, you needed reward now, so you got a lucky spoon of feasting instead! My favourite at that!. And quest is completed, so no refunds or redoes."

How awesome would it have been if Ben had join him? Like an episode that would’ve just been a few minutes of an adventure and NPC spending time together in a not questions related way. Laughing and telling jokes. Seeing each other’s people. And then the awkward shift as they get them back to business.
