Oh WOW... Hi Holly. you know what. You are the craziest girl yet also the luckiest i have ever seen in life. Because I watched several videos on your channel, which is how you fix the boat, with the tools available. I understand that it's not an easy job but you really enjoy it. You enjoy work, enjoy the breeze, enjoy the heat, enjoy the beauty of the beach, and enjoy the Journey and also enjoy your freedom out there. Because I really enjoy watching all your videos. I hope one day I can come there and meet Holly on the boat. Oh I almost forgot, I'm Sheen Wanylland B. from West Papua. I'm from the mountains but I like to go to the beach and often swim there. but to be honest I'm just afraid of sharks 🤦 but I hope sharks aren't evil like the ones in the movie huh 😅 okay. Thank you Holly for reading my comment. Have a great day and God loves you and Bless you.😇🙏

I don't understand why you would have diminished steerage way when motoring against an outflowing current at the entrance to the atoll. The current is against you, after all, not with you. But if you're seeing turbulence in the water that would certainly explain why steering is difficult. In a strong enough current, even minor fluctuations relative to the total current can push the boat around mercilessly. It's not loss of steerage way, however, it's rapidly changing transverse currents. You'll be making maximum way through them, but still being carried wherever.
@edwardhart84492 жыл бұрын
I don't understand, why don't you have AIS ? AIS is basic necessary equipment especially for a solo sailor. It is the most important piece of equipment a solo sailor can have. I was run down by a ship while solo sailing. It would not have happened if I had AIS. It was not available at the time. 😢

That was a wonderful shot of the sailfish or whatever it was. I hope you shoot more underwater shots while underway. Having the camera 12-18" below the water level seems to do better than in the top 6-8". When you couldn't get through the pass, I was wondering why you didn't phone a friend to hire a local to come out there and give you a little help and headway in. Any consistent help, even a paltry 30hp, would be a big help I would think. Do you have a system built to catch and preserve rainwater? Can you talk about the green flash that sometimes can be seen at sunset? Have you seen them? Please tell us about the experience.

Your pass attempt was very interesting - you demonstrated clearly that boats have no directional control if they can't move 'through' the water (moving over the ground is irrelevant), whether going with or against a current.

@@WindHippieSailing I agree whole heartedly in your philosophy. I've sailed for forty years, and was told, "you're under powered". Something I've always thought to sound ironic, especially being a sailor. Who chooses to use the slowest form of transportation mode today. Your ability to know your vessel, and make the correct decisions is your engine, metaphorical speaking. You are a remarkable sailor, especially being Solo. I thought the French having the bypass over you was a good thing. You may want to tell them you changed your point of destination. In case they take you as being lost at sea, lol. Lol because your journey has already exceeded this video .
