Disconnect your radios from the antenna when you have lightning. Even if you don't have a lightning strike, the static in the air can energize your antenna and go down into your radio and play hell with your sensitive chips. Basically it is possible to fry your radio, without a direct strike. Then before you connect the coax, take the center section of the coax and put it to a metal surface to dissipate any static build up.

Hi Holly a small tip which will make your potatoes last longer, store your potatoes apart from your onions, onions emit fumes which affect potatoes and make them go soft quicker

Wow. Whatta Monsoon. I remember years ago, parked on the ramp at Da Nang on a C - 130 in a similar monsoon. Buckets. So much flow we were getting inflo thru the aileron pushrod seals. Water all over the deck. Had to lower the ramp to get it all out.

Typical Dutch weather. I like the smell of ozone in the morning! With all that rain you could have used some showerbags, so you could have some fresh water showers. Or let the dinghy fill up, so you could have a bath or wash clothes.

Great video. The lightshow reminded me of one bell of a storm last year. We were sailing the north channel of Georgian bay, great lakes. Small boats, 17 cabin foot...me and my son toughed it out..35 to 40 knots.. our while group made it out alright. The rain was so fierce it felt like bullets on the cabin top. Ah what we do for some fun exploring

Those storms kinda remind me of being on top of a crude tank in Wyoming last February. Seven below temp with a steady 30 plus knot wind making it a balmy -38 degrees. But at the core of my sole I want to do what you're doing, so I'm doing what I need to do to achieve that. Just now in West Texas...... You and your videos inspire me, and keep pushing me to do it. Many times I want to give up, but I know that every two weeks, I'll get the boost I need.

@WindHippieSailing
@WindHippieSailing 2 жыл бұрын
Funny enough I had a huge conversation with my sister about keeping carrots in sand. It's a great way to preserve them, but most sailors spend all their energy trying to keep sand OFF their boats. Not to mention that I have no space for a carrot sand box! I definitely spend about half an hour trying to see if it would work though
@tilongatao
@tilongatao 2 жыл бұрын
@@WindHippieSailing Hi I am not cross if it doesn't make sense for you in the boat which might be the case because both sand and humidity are not welcome there. Plus this method is for cellars with five to ten degrees (whatever that might be in fahrenheit), and works fine with potatoes as well. So it might pay off trying it if you are starved for carrots on a passage, but won't if you are not.
