When I lived aboard I used one of the super soaker type water gun toys that you dip the tip then suck the water up into the gun then squirt it out. It worked very well and could move water pretty fast from the bilge.

Beautiful underwater shots! Hope you can get both an electric and manual bilge pump set up down there. Diesel salt bilge gargle is no joke. Having a wooden boat I have a few redundancies on bilge pumps. Never regretted having both. It is possible to repack the gland in the water if you must. Toilet ring wax outside works.

About the water in the bilge - no doubt you’ve solved it by now :>) and know all of this already: Assuming the prop shaft leaves the boat through a classic stuffing box: Is it dripping frequently with the engine off and the shaft not spinning? Look to tighten the stuffing box bolts. Typically first rotate the lock nut back towards the aft of the boat and then tighten the main bolt in the same direction. While you’re there take a look at the stuffing box hose and the hose clamps that keep it where it should be. They may need to be tightened as well. That hose is keeping water out of course, so be careful - Could also be leaking coolant water from the engine - and of course check the through hulls -

Fish traps on reefs are not sustainable fishing. They're nonselective and lead to removing important grazers and predators of the reef ecosystem that keeps them healthy. Fish traps and excessive fishing on reefs have caused numerous reefs to become overgrown with algae which smothers the corals.
