What a fail. Both guys weren't interested in giving it their all and so we got a trashy match. It could've been better with more effort and less time but it didn't happen. Funny enough, the two actually became the poster childs of part time wrestlers. What did you think of this feud?

I put it this way... if Brock and Goldberg would’ve wanted to stay in the company than their wrestlemania 20 match would’ve been a 5 star match.
@VOAN3 жыл бұрын
Goldberg is leaving WWE no matter what though, his contract was ending after WrestleMania XX and everyone in the company already knew he's leaving which was why the original plan was to have him get a victory over Goldberg at WrestleMania XX. WWE also had no plans for Goldberg after WrestleMania XX which is why they didn't offer him a new contract whereas WWE still had plans for Brock Lesnar and were surprise when Lesnar plans to go NFL instead. Had Lesnar stay, he would eventually get storyline feud with Eddie Guererro, JBL, Booker-T, the Undertaker, and maybe Randy Orton once he been drafted to SmackDown.

I rewatched the feud recently and with Goldberg disappearing shortly after that years Rumble (because they used up almost all of his dates in his contract) it felt like they were building to a Lesnar/Austin match. And yeah, the match was a disaster because neither man cared. @twoheadeddatascientist32893 жыл бұрын
I did not know that Goldberg was making a film prior to Wrestlemania 20. That was news to me. I loved the build-up. I guess that makes me a minority here. I loved it. I was 13 years old then and I loved the entire build-up. I was hooked on it because the storyline made sense-two big powerful guys need to fight eachother eventually-and the promos were very effective-ruthless agression era was great-and Steve Austin was involved. The latter doing the stunner on both men was his way of saying f*ck you to both of them for intentionally or accidently hurting him. Brock needed to do what he did and leave WWE and capture UFC gold. But Goldberg should have stayed. He could have had a far better match with The Undertaker in the 2000s that could have far superceded the actual match they did have in the late 2010s. Just imagine the storylines that Goldberg could have been involved in if he stayed. I feel between Brock Lesnar and Bill Goldberg leaving and later returning to WWE, it was Brock Lesnar who made the most of their hiatus. But then again Goldberg did have shoulder injuries so there was not much he could do but take a long break so his body can recover.
@hititdj3 жыл бұрын
man Goldberg was already set in terms of financial stability, Goldberg made a lotta money when he was in WCW, and after WCW fell done, Goldberg made some more money in Japan, so Goldberg didnt have to do nothing special to have a nice life, where as Brock was a young buck, he had a lotta stuff to do, but yeah Goldberg staying past Mania 20 wouldve been nice but I think WWE wouldve kept him to put over younger talent like Batista and even Orton, I dont think that Goldberg wouldve main evented a lotta PPVs

It could’ve make sense if Kane comes back (lights go off & on) & interfere the match & attack both Brock Lesnar & Goldberg ( & especially Stone Cold Steve Austin just to get his heat back after losing to The Undertaker). Kane put the chair on both Lesnar and Goldberg’s neck & he stoops on them one by one (like he did to Shawn Michaels that year), & they’re bleeding from their mouths & all the officials coming to check on them. Kane almost did it to Austin but then Edge came back & have a little brawl with Kane, just to start their feud on their Raw ppv (Backlash 2004). & of course Edge stands tall while Kane is walking to the entrance staring with a deadly look/smile to Edge. That makes sense. This is why they call us smart marks for a reason🤦🏾♂️
