For anybody who's interested, this is essentially how the displays in sports stadiums work, as well as electronic billboards, and similar displays businesses use, by putting many smaller displays together Having said that and worked in that industry, it does concern me that the quality might be low leading to more replacement than they may expect. Also, when a display is made for a stadium, all the boards are put together and the image is worked on to make it look uniform. I wonder if they are going to have a way to fine tune the image made by the separate boards. Especially if you start having a bunch of boards of different ages put together. Also, I worry about pixel outages.

@RaDeus875 жыл бұрын
I think that is way off, MicroLEDs only really work at a distance, move too close and the magic stops working.
@GallopingWalrus5 жыл бұрын
@@RaDeus87 That's not necessarily true. Emissive MicroLED TVs do that, but a MicroLED screen that wasn't using emissive screen wouldn't have that problem.

Maybe. There's a company called jade bird display that is developing microLED microdisplays for VR. Just look them up on youtube.
@dnkbmc5 жыл бұрын
I think the main thing hloding back VR is optics. With that kind of contrast and brightnes there will be insane godrays plus, the pixel density is not there yet for microLED to be packed into a small VR screen with required resolution.
@SirTipsi5 жыл бұрын
@@dnkbmc I mean that kind of contrast is closer to real-life, so it should work. I don't like looking at a grey screen whenever it's dark. I want 8k at 120hz to become a thing, and hopefully black levels like an oled has. On top of that a PC that can run that with realistic graphics. Yeah... Not gonna happen for ages to come. But when it does, I'll buy my first VR setup.

I would want to inquire about emission of UV light from these Micro LEDs. Their large size might be a function of high light emissions, its resulting eyestrain if used in close range of its viewer and any potential emission of UV light, which would necessitate longer range viewing vantage points.
