I think those contradictions exist because the writers of LoE gave the writers of the 2d clone wars show an early draft of LoE's plot. I assume they later changed some events in the novel that ended up contradicting the 2D clone wars show

Countries with conscripted soldiers usually requires their citizens to serve for a minimum amount of years when they turn 18 (usually 2 yrs) but afterwards they're free to do whatever they want. Clone troopers will never get this reward no matter how long they served and the ones who chose not to fight were branded renegades.

Sadly Disney won't agree. If anything they're the "Labyrinth of Evil". Saying let's pass up good ol legends stories that are actually interesting full of suspense, make them non-canon and make up our own stuff. This is a great story. It shows that Palpatine's plans weren't foolproof, and it's gutwrenching to see groups like this fail at the last second; to see that point were everything could come to light, but luck alone saved the grand scheme.

Agreed. 1. During a battle, Obi Wan and Anakin, the dynamic duo, almost capture one of the leaders of the Separatist Alliance. 2. Thought he escapes, he has left behind a key communication chair which allows the Jedi and Republic Intelligence to monitor Separatist communications and attain a lead on Darth Sidious (the people who made these machines reveal information on who bought them). For the first half of the story, the Jedi Order does not disclose this information to anyone (including the Chancellor) but a Republic Intelligence Officer whom they trust. 3. This information is later shared with the Chancellor, when the Jedi learn of an impending attack on a planet by Grievous (monitoring their secret channel) and decide that they cannot allow the planet's population to suffer simply to maintain this intelligence advantage. 4. The Jedi Order has multiple Jedi investigate trails of the Dark Lord of the Sith. Anakin and Obi Wan are sent on various missions during their battles gaining valuable information on Sidious' payments and the secret dealings of Maul, Dooku etc with a Twilek test pilot. At one point, when Dooku picks up on the Jedi being aware of certain things, he is tempted not to share this information with his Master (he could for instance become the Master himself and allow the Jedi to kill Sidious), but decides to warn him. 5. The money trail and orders for stealthy ships are traced to Coruscant and to the abandoned "Works District" - the place at the end of AOTC where Dooku met his Master. 6. Masters Windu and Shaak Ti lead the Coruscant investigation, and are assigned multiple Jedi Knights, Padawans and several Clone Commando teams along with a clone trooper unit. They raid the Works building and find traces of Sidious. The Republic Intelligence officer Dyne assists them with advanced search droids and probes. 7. The Jedi/Intelligence team are led through endless tunnels, but find a trail of evidence that leads to the Senate district. Here, the trail grows cold at the base of 500 Republica, the personal quarters of many of Coruscant's finest. 8. At this point, the team uncovers trace evidence of a being using the basement area to access both the tunnels as well as the exclusive lifts that lead to every floor of the building. Even the Chancellor lives in this building when not on duty. The search droids reveal that the footprints suggest that the being hovered above the ground at points suggesting a Force user. 9. The Chancellor aware of the Jedi's hunt for Sidious tells Master Yoda that he will have their fullest support. Meanwhile, Dooku is contacted by a panicked Sidious. He tells Dooku and Grievous that the Jedi are onto his trail and Dooku notes alarm in his Master's voice. Sidious then composes himself and orders his subordinates to "accelerate their plans" and commence their secret plan (meaning the invasion of Coruscant). 10. The Jedi Masters Shaak Ti and Mace Windu are now with the Republic Intelligence officer Dyne and Clone Commandos in the basement of 500 Republica. At this time, the Separatist Fleet, using secret Hyperspace routes of the Jedi Order known by Dooku, emerges beyond the defensive perimeter of the Republic Venators and an invasion begins. The Jedi Temple, with Yoda in Command, leads the defensive effort, deploying Jedi and clone troopers to defend the city. 11. Separatist jammers interfere with Republic communications and droid star fighters rein havoc upon the capital. The Republic shield grid goes online resulting in hampered communication between Republic forces (and the Jedi) on the ground. This includes Yoda not being able to get into contact with Windu and Shaak Ti, who are still hunting for Sidious, unaware of the invasion. 12. The Jedi Temple uses the Jedi Beacon to transmit an emergency coded message to notify Jedi elsewhere of the attack and to request assistance in the capital's defence from available Jedi. 13. Master Windu orders Shaak Ti to go and evacuate the Chancellor who is in the 500 Republic Building. Windu goes to the Temple and takes a starfighter to assist in the attack. So at this point the Jedi are doing their duty to defend a city under attack and focus on the Battle of Coruscant. It is during these moments that Dyne makes a discovery, but is unable to reach anyone for help on the communicator. He decides to follow Windu's orders to pursue the case and in the tunnel/cave he debates with the Clone Commando Officer whether they should go and get help, but a noise makes them think they need to act now. That is when Sidious makes his move and kills them. After this, Shaak Ti manages to finally get the Chancellor's Guards to allow herself, some Clones and Stass Allie to enter the Chancellor's chambers where his advisors are begging him to evacuate to the Secure Bunker zone. The story continues with Grievous attacking and the Jedi getting him to the bunker, whereupon Grievous cunningly uses a Republic gunship to enter the zone and capture Palpatine. Windu pursues and manages to injure Grievous' chest (causing his wheeze), but is distracted when Grievous attacks a civilian hover train, forcing the Jedi Master to stop and save them from falling. Yoda when speaking to Windu at the Temple feels a disturbance in the Force and Sidious' presence for the first time. At this point the Jedi are focused on the Chancellor. Later in the novelisation of ROTS, it is mentioned that the Jedi were close to Sidious, and lost him at the last minute. So the Jedi may believe that Sidious left the capital. Given the number of civilians, military personnel and Jedi lost in the Battle, I think it is assumed that Dyne and the Commandos may have perished in the attack. Sidious (Palpatine) sealed the concealed entrance to the tunnel after he killed them. It was only detected with Dyne's specialised search droids

Seriously all the Jedi leave the clones to investigate a Sith Lord's hideout?!! Couldn't just one or two of the Jedi stayed with the clones to investigate the Sith lair because I thought the Sith usually are very dangerous at concocting traps and other defense measures to ensure that their secret lairs would be defended against any intruders and Jedi should be able to deal with that. But the Pre- Clone Wars Jedi were usually too arrogant for their own good I guess since they have never encountered a Sith Lord in such a long time.

They only denounced the EU. It still exists. Everything is canon to me up until the Aftermath series where I'd just pick and choose what's canon to me and what's not. Most of all the (mostly) wonderful content can coexist. No need to hate Disney for making things and saying things, just ignore/get really picky and add to your own perception of the series of stories of the world told by countless content creators. I think that way you get the most out of it (by just taking the good out of things). Applicable to all aspects of life.

What an interesting scenario would ve happened if Grievous was a bit late on his attack on Coruscant, or Yoda and Mace decided that continuing the search was a priority, thus finding Palpatine as Sidious this way. Shaak ti and Mace and some clone troopers vs Sidious and some droids and Geonosians. Very interesting matchup. All side actors become basically irrelevant because Mace in Vapaad vs Sidious is an epic, incomprehensible duel. If we assume that Mace would defeat him again in a sword duel, he would probably go for arrest instead of execution and Palpatine would probably concede defeat and not engage in a Sith lightning action, waiting to strike by some treachery, or free himself of shackles, or even go with it entirely and go to the courts and manipulate his way OUT of that SCENARIO. Trying to execute order 66 in the meantime and saving Anakin's conversion to the dark side for later. Either that or he d say fck it and unleash some Sith lightning Which Mace would deflect back with his BAD MOFO lighsaber and burn the Sith into his scarred form, finishing the duel with a decapitation LOL. War would them continue with Dooku and Grievous leading the droid army. I suppose they would wrap up the war soon or the Jedi would end it in a stalemate, having realized just how badly Palpatine had manipulated them.

And given that they were in an LAAT at the time, it’s safe to assume that Fox’s body fell out the side. Seriously, why couldn't THIS have been the story for the Clone Wars cartoon episode where the Jedi Council faked Obi-wan's death as a means of justifying the decision of keeping Anakin out of the loop by having Kenobi go undercover to figure this mystery out? This would have made SO MUCH more sense for why the Jedi Council didn't want Anakin there due to how unstable he was and wanting to keep it hush hush. Too much would have been at stake then. Not to mention this would tie in with Mace Windu's line in Revenge of the Sith about sensing a plot to destroy the Jedi perfectly. With an underground base close to Palpatine's office, how could they not suspect Palpatine was up to something and something big? But no... instead, Obi-Wan goes undercover just to... prevent a kidnapping of Palpatine. Ugh... really?! That's the best they could have done?! Yes, I know people will argue they didn't know Palpatine was orchestrating the whole thing and they had to protect him being the leader of the Republic and all, but still... it doesn't change the fact that this is such a weak concept for doing something as serious as having the Jedi commission one of their top Knights to go on an undercover espionage mission to learn some secrets from their enemies. It should have been something alot more interesting, let alone shocking. I mean, if you're going to have the Jedi Council pull this kind of move, they should have SOME measure of justification for leaving Anakin out of the loop, ESPECIALLY when it's with his master no less. All that did was make the Jedi Council look alot more incompetent and reckless than they should have been written.
