@@Viteaification Apparently. That still never made sense to me either though. Yes they "signed a contract" so to speak. But just because you put something on paper and have someone sign and agree to it doesn't magically give you the right to break the law. I don't know the exact law, but I know that there are provisions in place with regard to contract law for just these sort of situations. By which I mean there are laws in place that can allow a contract/waiver etc to be considered void if that contract is found to be blatantly illegal or unethical. Doesn't mean it's likely but it is possible. I'm assuming the way this situation turned out had something to do with the fact that it was in Australia, and they obviously have their own judicial system and laws.

First: the lady in question had a rare condition that cause her death when all the water was introduced (see the chubby-emu video for details). Drinking lots of water *CAN* be dangerous but the vast majority of people pee long before they drink too much and in thos contest having a wee stopped the drinking. Sadly for this lady the amount she drank was enough to trigger her condition.0 "They signed releases so we are not responsible" Yeah... that's not how that works. At least here in the Netherlands; If you dare a person to do something dangerous and encourage them to continue, knowing that what they are doing is dangrous, then you are responsible for the result. Also: as a company you are responsible for what happens to the people in your building. That's a law and it is legally not possible to wave that responsibility (contracts cannot overrule law, "enter at your own risk" is not a thing). If you get hurt by an employee, the company is also resonsible because they had to make sure that could not reasonably happen. Letting this competition happen, when consulting a single doctor would tell them that's dangerous, makes the company responsible. Also also: If you are aware, or could reasonabily be expected to be aware, that what you do to a person can cause serious harm or even death, then it does not matter what your intent was, you are responsible for the result. They knew drinking water was dangerous, they were warned several timeson-air; that makes them responsible for the result. A court has to decide wether her death was caused by the water or her underlying condition, but if I was a judge I'd make an example of these people and give them some serious jailtime for negligent homocide.

Therr are few important things to know about water and humans. If you are in a survival situation and only got food but no water, don't eat. Digestion uses water stored in your body. Lack of water will kill you way faster then lack of food. People can survive without any food for about 30 days. It can vary because of body mass, stored fat and quality of your muscles, general state of your health and so on. If you are properly hydrated but your water is finished but you know 100% that you get some water soon then eating is okay. Water poisoning is a real thing. It should be common knowledge in my honest opinion. A lot of things can kill or hurt you when consumed in excess.

The things people will do for crap. If the Wii is sold out is sold out. Kids need to learn they can’t get everything they *think* they deserve and parents need to put their foot down and teach their children the meaning of *NO.* 10:25 those are *3 LITTER* bottles! Very rare for Pepsi to have those. Coca-Cola has them as well but in limited distribution.

Gee whiz it’s funny how whenever any legal action gets to the pointy end against Pepsi the court finds in Pepsi’s favour. This business about ‘there’s no breach on Pepsi’s part’. 1. They’ve devised the contest. 2. Determined it’s parameters 3. Developed a marketing campaign 4. Run with a Harrier jet and a Pepsi point price tag. They derived a substantial financial carrot by using the premise and imagery that they have… Old mate needed one of those 1 in a million lawyers who could convince the court that Pepsi signed its own death warrant the instant they ran with the 7 million points graphic. They knew they’d whip the great unwashed into a lather and diabetes would be the new black. ‘It beggars the claimants and if I might be so bold your honour, this good courts belief, that the fat cats at Pepsi co were aware that a baked on % of Pepsi fans would take years of their lives trying to scoop the pool… Throw in the Pepsi decal on the fuselage of the harrier and it smacks of entrapment.

So in this country we prosecute people to the fullest extent for nonviolent crimes, but don’t bring criminal charges to people who really deserves to be locked up.

Never consult 'the public' on anything too crucial : the ratio of decent/reasonable ppl to the unwell/ill-raised/unstable is way off.

I’ve said this before: It’s messed up that there are people who will participate in dangerous challenges to the point of getting hurt because "people will make fun of me if I drop out". Look, you know yourself better than some bunch of mocking jackals who don't give a flip about you. Anyone who will make fun of you for dropping out of a contest/challenge to protect your health will make fun of you no matter what you do, so if you're going to be made fun of no matter what you do, make the choice that will preserve your health and well-being. Same goes for these TikTok challenges. Some people act like the whole world will mock them if they don't do some stupid online challenge. It won't; the vast majority of the world's population won't care about some Internet challenge. Most people probably won't even know what challenge you're talking about, and those who do know are likely to say how stupid it is.

Okay not sure why there is no info on this but iSnak 2.0 was not voted on it was entered as a "base name" AKA the examples they put on the page from the company, it was suggested by one of the higher ups kids. It ddin't get stuff all votes but kept getting into the subsequent lists and no one understood why, then on the final vote where it was still there it lost but the higher up pulled rank and it iSanck 2.0 was then put on the jars adn distributed, there was a mass backlash as noone liked the name not even as a joke name. The higher up was outed as the culprit and it was reported on in the newspaper, on the radio on the news everywhere and Kraft apologised and changed the name to the real winner. Again this was ON ALL NEWS SOURCES, I know as I remember reading about it in the newspaper and hearing it on the f**kin radio...
