So ...I did the same thing , and I wasn't even a cop. I was a construction worker that went in for one ,and had way to many ...the cop that pulled me over and ultimately arrested me for DUI ,showed up at court and was so apologetic towards me . He seriously was sad that he had to arrest me , knowing that I was over the limit and I know I should have gotten an hotel room for the night, but I at the time had a fairly high tolerance to alcohol and it took a lot to get me drunk. I told him thanks for doing his job, and that it WAS good that he did. It woke me up from the drunken sailor I was . It really did wake me up , and I haven't driven intoxicated since. It was my second DUI the first one was basically a slap on the wrist with 6months suspension of my license. The second withing 2 year's of the last and lost my driver's for 5years and ha to take a course for two weeks in a holding facility along with 20 other dui'ers that and GOD were and is a great help in staying on the straight and narrow path. Sometimes a guy just needs a wake up call. I thank God and the police officer every day that I never hurt anyone else ever. 🙏🙏🙏

Regarding the "Drunk Driving Captain". I was watching him do his FSTs and for a man who should know how a "Heel-Toe Walking Test" should be done, or at the very least, what is expected. He was doing it so badly that either he was so drunk, or so entitled and protected, that he couldn't give a shit to even try to do it properly. I also find it interesting that the "Captain" was put on "Administrative Duties", pending an investigation. The reason that I find it interesting is that a Captain's role is an Administrative one to begin with. So right off the bat, there is no "Real" immediate consequences for him because of his actions. That being said, I believe that the Sergeant is going to have some serious career obstacles only because he did the right thing to a Superior Officer, who it seems is already being given "Departmental Consideration" prior to the IA Investigation. The writing on the wall is already there. I wish the Sergeant all the luck in the World. He's obviously one of the good ones. Cheers. 🇨🇦

Recidivism amongst violent offenders is more likely than unlikely. If "offered" a public escort by a known associate insist on as many friends who are streaming accompanying you.

The Golubski case is more sinister. He was known by fellow officers to target Black sex workers for sexual assault. One day he targeted a Black woman who wasn't a sex worker. She refused him. I LOVE my Father from the bottom of my heart.. He served in the Military and taught me how important it was to do what's right.. I served in the military and tell my kids that what you do represents who you are.. As of today, my youngest son is in high school ROTC and aims to go to college, then into the military. I said all that to say "YES, I WOULD ARREST MY FATHER IF I WAS THE COP AND HE DROVE DRUNK".. My father knows not to do something that stupid and we don't drink. But if he did, he knows that keeping people safe and doing my job is more important then covering up his actions that he knew shouldn't have happened in the first place. Re. the question at the end about being a cop that pulled their father over for a DUI - I actually know a cop who pulled his mother over for speeding - she had boasted all his life about how she was such a speeder but had never been pulled over for it... one day he's sat in his patrol car and a white car flashes past him - recognising the car as his mothers, he chased her down and gave her a ticket for speeding! X-D She was naturally furious with him but he just told her to take it to court and that he wouldn't show up so it would get thrown out but now at least she could no longer boast about never getting a speeding ticket!!! X-D
