Back in the 90's SCOTUS ruled that the states could use the police to generate money for the purpose of balancing the state budgets... which basically turned us all into criminals. This was one of the worst decisions to ever come from the Supreme Court. This is why the police are always rude, aggressive and always ask intrusive questions, bc their main goal is to make arrests as possible, in every interaction with the public. it's also why they arrest so many people of resisting/obstruction and other baseless charges. Resisting/Obstruction are subjective terms which means the cop doesn't need evidence of a crime being committed. The police get paid by the federal gov't and by several NGO's for every arrest, even if the prosecutor drops charges the next day. Mothers Against Drunk Drivers pays $900, to the police department, for every drunk driving arrest...which is why so many cops are now arresting drivers even if they blow 0.00 on the breathalyzer., they no longer care if someone is convicted bc they get paid by the number of arrests and by the hours the person is in jail. Most states no longer bring an arrested person to the police dept to book them and assign them a bond...now in most states the person is brought directly to a jail to be booked in. This is bc the jails/prisons are privatized, paid by the federal gov't. They are paid by the number of prisoners, in the facility, per hour, instead of every day. They literally take an hourly head count. This is also why the most minor offenses, like jaywalking... are no longer offenses where you get a warning or a ticket, in Ga, for example, jaywalking is now a jailable offense which has a bond in order to get out. Then there is the fact that they now hire cops who are sociopathic/narcissist tendencies, which never would have happened even 10 yrs ago. These are the cops who get triggered if they see someone having a good time, like the people on this golf cart. After the SCOTUS decision in the 90's, decent officers were refusing to treat the citizens like so many cops do today... most were pushed to resign or take early retirements... and now we are forced to deal with cops who are criminals themselves. They act like thugs bc they are encouraged to. Only 1 in 10,000 bad arrests end up in a lawsuit and over 50$ of those that do file lawsuits end bc of Qualified Immunity.

Not America we don't. Cops have rights and all the rights to be "safe". They have the right to charge anyone with anything at anytime for any reason. Courts have made it perfectly clear. "Officer safety" is the law of the land. It trumps all. Don't like it, file a complaint or take it to court at your expense. File a law suit against the tax payer. That's our only legal course of action. No accountability. That's the soul reason of the 2nd amendment but it's not being used for it's intended purpose.

This is because of the fact that the wealthy have always been primarily able to afford the attorney and the ride... They used to only go after the poor, and the poor were not able to defend themselves so.... But inevitably, what can be done, can also become done in repetitive manner, to include many more people.... And "Tyranny" is self perpetual...
