Y'all need some context! Numbers between 1-11 in football are related to positioning on the pitch! (at least in classic times). 7 equals to right winger. It's where Cristiano started playing in Portugal youth club. In the late 80s, 7 was held by legendary French and Manchester United KING, Eric Cantona (you should react to him some day!). He played as a 9 (striker) but loved number 7. So he made it a brand in Manchester United team. After Cantona, it was held by BECKHAM. After Beckham, it was given to Cristiano. That's how he ended up being CR7. (even though he played also as an 11 (position) in Manchester United, a left winger...Than a 9 (striker) for the rest of his career (until now!) after coming to Madrid...But still by wearing the number 7!
