The fact that Dilophosaurus is so underutilized in dino documentaries is a crime. In fact, you don't really see many dilo depictions in media outside of Jurassic Park-related stuff and video games (where they usually just copy what Jurassic Park did anyway) in general, which is a shame.

The unnamed Dromaeosaur is the result of the Suskityrannus, it was originally thought to be a raptor before further research showed it wasn't a maniraptoran. By that point however it had already been animated, so they kept it in and animated the short Coelurosaur scene as a nod to the new discovery.

I think you are being too harsh on the dromeosaurs. At the time of development the bones of Suskityrannus were believed to be those of a dromeosaurs and it was only until after they animated the segment that they learned that wasn't the case. It was probably too much money to reanimate those sections with new models so they added the little segment of a coelurosaurian fishing instead.

Hey, Raptor. About the Anchisaurus… I live in Massachusetts, and we’ve found fossils of Anchisaurus in the Connecticut River Valley, alongside Dilophosaurus trace fossils and full skeletons of a Coelophysoid; MA’s state dinosaur; Podokesaurus. If WDRA set the early Jurassic segment 190 mya in Massachusetts, and renamed Syntarsus as Podokesaurus, then the segment would’ve been entirely accurate.

I have noticed that North America's most famous dinosaurs are sacred cows for many dinofans. When I suggested in one conversation a hypothetical documentary series that focusing on Europe's least known dinosaurs (i.e. dinosaurs other than those of Britain and Hateg) would sound like, the idea got boos and dislikes. People's reasoning was that my idea was way too unpatriotic to them and that European dinosaurs have gotten too much screen time in the paleo media while American dinosaurs hardly at all. I was disappointed because I thought that others would also be interested in knowing more about European lesser know dinosaurs and that the idea would get even a little support. My idea started from the situation that I live in Finland and here America-centric paleodocuments have been very overrepresented. But apparently European dinosaurs just don't hold much interest.

There’s one more inaccuracy I noticed and it was when the narrator said that icarosaurus was the first flying vertebrate. But in reality icarosaurus glided instead of flying and the first flying vertebrates were pterosaurs And it’s weird that they didn’t include a pterosaur in the Triassic segment cause both dinosaurs and pterosaurs evolved pretty much at the same time

Finally! I'm glad to hear another dino roar denyer. There's no reptile living today that "roars" because they're all hissers. Komodo dragons, crocodilians, snakes, monitors, turtles, etc. are hissers. (Now I know alligators do "bellow" with closed mouths but that's not a "roar" in the traditional sense and it's only during mating season.) Besides the recently discovery of the low frequency vibration sounds thought to be made by T-Rex are far more fascinating, and unsettling, in my opinion. I wish Hollywood and science documentaries wood take notice of this.

Honestly I think the most blaring negatives that stand out to me are some of the rediculous behaviors shown by predators. One of the dromaeosaurs stupidly tries to attack the nothronychus, which is over ten times it’s size, on its own. The pack later dies in the forest because it prioritizes eating over running from the flames. In the Hell Creek segment, the juvenile rex could have scared away the quetz and eaten the dead triceratops it was eating, getting a super easy meal, but instead it chooses to literally hop over the carcass and chase the quetz. These are absurd behaviors that have no basis in reality. No animal with a conscience would ever act in these ways.

@@seanmckelvey6618 It is something to get used to! When things change you have to get used to the new thing, it's how that works, humans don't instantly adapt to things..when knowledge you've grown up with suddenly gets debunked it can be hard to get used to the correct newer thing as your mind will think of the older familiar yet incorrect thing instead in most situations. I grew up with people saying windmills were the best energy ever and had to correct myself for a bit that they're actually trash.

I’m somebody who is well aware of the inaccuracies in media but honestly I don’t get bothered by them, heck Jurassic fight club i I would really only care if the fights are good or if there is something to laugh at. I hate misinformation but if they aren’t trying to spread it as fact I don’t care. Dinosaurs make brain happy.

Re: Dinosaurs couldn’t roar. Ok, maybe roaring in the same way as big cats is out. But I wouldn’t underestimate the variety of noises that are possible with a birdlike syrinx either. Consider all the different sounds a mockingbird can imitate, for one; they can make some nasty growls when angry.

Something you see a lot too, especially in herbivorous dinos, is them galloping... Sorry but dinos can not gallop as their spines are not made to do that... they may move more laterally, like lizards, but not undulating like a mammal.
