Judging from this clip alone, the animal designs in the Smilodon scenes look as if they were heavily inspired by those of the 2001 BBC series Walking with Beasts (which was sensational for its time).

Saurophaganax turned out to be Allosaurus anax, so the Saurophaganax can go into outdated now Which is tragic, Saurophaganax is an epic name

I've noticed from this review that the T-rex is the only creature they got all the facts right about while every other dino in this they just crap all over and say "whatever". It's almost as if the T-rex is their favorite dinosaur in this and thus is the only one they need to get everything right about while the others they just don't care about them enough to get all the facts right about them and they feel that had to talk or mention the others just to get them out of the way so that they can get to their favorite dinosaur, which explains the toxic T-rex bite returning for this, it feels like they only brought it back just to beef up the tyrant lizard king. Ugh, this golden child thing being present in another dinosaur doc, I'm glad we've moved away from it and I hope it stays as a thing of the past because I just wanna enjoy a good documentary without being faced with a stupid waifu war in it. Also, if they love the tyrannosaurus rex so much, why not make this whole documentary mainly about the T-rex instead? It's not like they can't make dinosaur documentaries that focus on mainly one dinosaur species, like, oh I don't know, Walking with Dinosaurs: The Ballad of Big Al?

The Carnotaurus was originally going to be Tyrannosaurus rex until they changed it late in development and only slapped the horns and skin bumps on it to change it.

You and others have already explained basically all of why Burial at Sea is dysfunctional but there is one thing I think is significant enough to mention that everyone seems to leave out and it’s Dr Suchong. The first time I heard that recording in bioshock 1 of him and the child and the puppy I found it so unhinged and generally he seemed like a proper psychopath, like something out of the nazi doctors you hear or just straight out of a psychologists text book, he was creepy to say the least. Then we get to this dlc and he is so goofy, like almost every time he spoke I laughed, he did not feel anywhere near as threatening and psychologically threatening he just seemed like an evil doctor out of a cartoon. He never needed a game where he made a proper appearance but if there is definitely not like that. (Also it tried to autocorrect Dr Suchong to Dr Sucking 💀)

Okay, so a funny thing about the Dodos is that Bluesky didn't actually want to add them in the movie at all, they were forced to by Fox who "suggested" they add in Dodos. When Bluesky stated they didn't want to due to Dodos not being present in the setting, Fox threatened to cut funding. This is the reason why all the Dodos are shown dying in cartoonish ways, and the only other time they show up in the franchise was one dying to a geyser towards the end of the second film and never again.

The idea of the chronological arms race reminds me of a chapter from an eighties dinosaur book I have. It wasn’t that accurate but had in order Triassic: poposaurus and hesperosuchus Early Jurassic: Syntarsus and Heterodontosaurus Late Jurassic: Elaphrosaurus and Dysalotosaurus Early Cretaceous: Deinonychus and Tenontosaurus Late Cretaceous: Albertosaurus and Hypacrosaurus Not necessarily accurate as it was implied they descended from one another but nonetheless reminded me of what you mentioned.

If you're gonna make more of these, you gotta make some comments on the assorted extra animals that keep showing up in crowd shots. That's the one area where these movie makers seem to put absolutely all of their scientific research!

without a doubt the creative team at bluesky chose the creatures they did because they wanted as many prehistoric looking Cenozoic animals as possible to makeup for the lack of any ice age representation say as a tack on to the almost purely dinosaur exlusive material. in all honesty, most Pleistocene era mega fauna doesn't look all that different to animals of modern day and wouldn't be to interning to put onscreen. then again possums and weasels made the cut so whatever.

Well with this movie coming out 1 year after walking with beasts aka walking with prehistoric beasts in the sense of USA, they also had a walking with special for walking with prehistoric beasts involving Ray Romano and the real beasts of the ice age special of which you can find the promo to that on KZbin... I was only 8 or 9 when this saga started. Also want a weird ice age theory check out cartoons-animation-zone for more context... Also what you think about doing some accuracy analysis with Wild Kratts back in creature time time travel special idk what you think kinda your cup of tea per day or kinda out of your league RRW?

I'm just remembering the montage where the characters walk by Old Faithful, then Stonehenge. This ought to be fun. Yeah, I recall the dodos' presence coming off a bit goofy even as a kid. The implications they were dying off in the first movie went over my head, but I remember seeing the sequel which only shows one dodo promptly get killed following which they're all in heaven implying they're extinct and being like, "What? People who had writing saw live dodos, why are mammoths and smilodons being depicted outliving them?" Though yes, my family found that scene a stand-out quotable movie moment. I also remember seeing the megatherium scene in Walking With Prehistoric Beasts and it bugged me ever since how small Sid was. Neat to hear that there is in fact a real-life species that was closer to his size. Though it's kind of weird that the official website implied he was a megatherium. Yes, I visited the official website where you'd race characters around through the ice tunnel and play whack-a-mole with Scrat.

You forgot to mention how smilodons have never been discovered to have been depicted in cave paintings but they are in the film. Also, what is Stonehenge doing there?
