I recently have gotten braces in December and I've done so much research because I genuinely don't know what my Orthodontist is trying to accomplish. I've had to learn everything on my own and my specific case seems so out of the norm that no regular amount of research suffices. I have all of my wisdom teeth, no crowding, barely any crookedness or misalignment, and a lot of space. Just about a month ago my doctor wanted to straighten my wisdom teeth but didn't even tell me WHY she was putting them on until I had to come in for an emergency bracket removal because the pain was beyond awful. It was to straighten my wisdom teeth but no research helped explain why this is done and how frequently. Not to mention is it even possible? In getting that initial bracket she also had brackets applied to my 2nd molars. These haven't caused any pain but have made eating a worry for me as you explained, they tend to come loose. I don't want to prolong treatment because of this breaking off. However, how am I expected to eat anything if the constant force on these sets of teeth is an issue? Overall this process has been severely confusing and I just wanted to fix a deep bite issue and gaps that need to be closed. I feel like I've become a dentistry student trying to figure out my options. It just seems that with current braces information, I'm a rare outlier and have no clue what the Orthodontist is trying to do in the process. No amount of research could've prepared me for my specific case.

Sorry to hear this.... To be honest if I were you I would ask to switch to Invisalign for a case like this there's just no way around it. For spacing cases it's just way better

@StraightSmile Solutions Orthodontic Coach for GPs I see. I got regular braces because they said Invisalign will affect my speech. As a voice actor, I can't have something like this affecting my work. However, it seems it truly wouldn't be much different from what I have now and less of a hassle. Thank you for your reply and I will talk with my orthodontist about possible Invisalign. I'm glad I came across your video.

After 3 months with Braces.. today i got Molar Bands...for Open Bite.....any disadvantages and how to avoid them please.
@Straightsmilesolutions10 ай бұрын
I have a lot of content on bands vs brackets- obviously the best way to avoid is to get clear aligners- you can also get 3D printed bands- kzbin.info/www/bejne/sJjJfmSDdttmbck.

My adult braces journey just began 6 weeks ago and my bracket came off my back molar because there is a crown on that tooth. I’ve had spacers added to make space for the molar bands. It’s been a week and my dental hygienist told me to keep them in until my next appt 8 weeks later. Is it normal to keep the rubberband spacers in for 8-weeks?

Doctor I lost my first molar and my age is 18 in both of my upperjaw so my doubt is can we move second molar in first molars place so there will be space for my wisdom tooth to grow as well as no need of implant too
@Straightsmilesolutions4 ай бұрын
You'll need to ask an ortho this- sometimes yes, sometimes no kzbin.info/www/bejne/hmLFp5aHoa52e6M

I did not have a back molar bands or brackets , my braces were removed 2 weeks ago and I didn’t notice until I got my retainers that my upper left back molar is tilted a little bit out of alignment from the other Teeth I’m assuming this is because it didn’t have a bracket or wire connecting it to the rest of the arch Is this gonna be a problem for by bite everything else seems OK I remember asking my orthodontist a while ago why we didn’t have the last Molar brackets and he said he doesn’t normally put those on, but I didn’t realize until now that maybe it could be an issue if it’s an issue? Your thoughts would be helpful after watching this video?

ask for brackets of course, much better- just eat carefully

Like I said in the beginning of my message, my braces were removed two weeks ago, so I don’t think I can just have them add a bracket back on I’m in a clear liner retainer And I didn’t notice the back molar issue until I looked at my retainer He never mentioned an issue with that tooth. Is it too late to correct this back molar that’s slightly tilted from not having a bracket on it or do you think it’ll fall into place eventually?

Thank you very much doc for sharing just one q in case we have missing first molar in only one side where the bracket will be placed?
@Straightsmilesolutions2 жыл бұрын
well you wouldn't be bracketing that one then right? So I usually put a 6 bracket on the 7 because it's more robust and less likely to break. You usually have to cynch and use a CCS. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z2GkfmBoatljkMk

Last year I got extraction and its been already 10 month i can see the gap are close in my mandible but there is no change in my maxilla , & one thing why my ortho didn’t put bracket on my last molar?
@Straightsmilesolutions9 ай бұрын
Not really sure- anytime you have a concern like this ask your doc. If they won't answer, go get a 2nd opinion. They are usually free. Try googling "ortho consult near me, free" or "virtual ortho consult near me free"

That's a liability- for your dental licenses- if you are a consumer I don't think any doctor would do that why not restore it first?
