@@1PionK nah dude. When i went to high school a lot of kids went to church as like a sanctuary. During Sunday a lot of the town went to the local church. The neighbors were tight knit with the local pastor. The church had like recitals, bbqs, and reunions. I always saw a lot of kids in the church. Im guessing the law sees churches and schools as protected places.

It's an investigation regarding felonies, it's uncertain how the suspects will react to being arrested. The suspects could potentially pull a gun, start fighting, or simply try to run. The curt orders from law enforcement help convey to those random patrons in the gas station that it's serious. Swift and quick movement is necessary in a situation like this, they need the upper hand for officer safety.

And treating others like subjects, who have nothing to do with a crime being committed by someone else shouldn't be used , as usual, to show authority in such a minor crime. I was barely 16, first job, working as a porter in a bowling alley. One night the manager came to me and said the snack bar crew called in and he needed me to go run the lucrative snack bar. I’d never cooked anything for anyone before, never ran a cash register, and for 8 hours I struggled to keep up but made it to closing. I’m cleaning up, and he came and got my drawer and did what managers do. He later came back, with a straight look on his face said, your drawer came up short, and just stared at me. At first it didn’t compute, then I realized what he meant. I said how much. He smiled and said 7 cents. He told me it was usually around $75.00 a night. The next day I go to work, the snack bar was closed. He told me he had fired the entire snack bar crew, and manager for theft. He asked if I wanted to run it again tonight, I stood there shaking my head with an emphatic NO! He laughed and ran it himself, at closing he was 13 cents short. Your comment about the math at the end of the day brought back that memory because I had wondered the same thing.

No not necessarily. when I was young working at little Caesar’s I was a shift leader. The ingredients are so cheap they only keep track of cheese percentage used. But you throw away 30min old pizzas. So I’d sell hot n readys all day . They come to $5.30, you pocket that $4.70 and write off an old pizza because you got a $10 bill almost every time. Then end of shift the til is even and you might be out a tiny bit on cheese phoning in the nightly paperwork. Stay within 0.2% of cheese cost and it was good. I probably made around 30g lol. That was twenty years ago I’m no thief as an adult but $8 an hour to manage a business netting 2g a day? Nah I’ll pay myself then.

It's not illegal. It depend on physical conditions of the detainee. They might have arm or shoulder injuries that prevent it or the officer might think they will be more likely to talk if they are more comfortable.
