Body cameras help literally everyone. They help when the innocent are abused by police, and they help the innocent cops when they get wrong accused, too.

Yes, and the people who original,y demanded them now want them banned, because they disprove so many of the accusations they make. The recent case where an officer is being accused of excessive force because he shot a guy who was strangling him is a prime example.

That isn’t true a all. The people who fought them are very happy they have them. Don’t conflate the few criminals like these idiots in the video who don’t want cameras. Everyone else wants the cameras because they prove everything. Let’s not just lie and make things up. The people who are most against cameras are cops and their is a reason why.

He didn't actually understand the KZbin videos. I believe many of this video's do a great service showing that the cops can't randomly stop and ID you (this applies even in stop and search states). That's Nazi Germany style law enforcement. However, they do have the right when they can provide clear and articulate cause for believing the person is in violation of the law. In this drivers case the police did have probable cause to ask for his ID.
@superleggenda

@@ramjetrththe problem is that driving on a suspended license IS a clear and articulate case. The great majority of body cam videos show LEGITIMATE stops. But there are very few, if any videos, showing ACTUAL abuse by the police. Especially since the introduction of body cameras.
@ramjetrth
@ramjetrth 11 ай бұрын
@@superleggenda Actually there are a considerable number of videos of police abuse. One in particular is when a girl who weighed about 90 pounds was being detained she spit on the officer. They are partly right - you don't have to give name/ID - But If you don't do it the police has the right to take you with them to identify you. But they have to have a cause, not just because they like to check you. There has to be the suspicion of you doing something wrong/criminal and you can go and sue because of that if you miss important things like a job interview because of being falsely accused and detained. But it will be hard to get your right. PO are people like you and me and some are nice and some are assholes and get a boner showing you they have the power just because they don't like your face or are racist etc. There are enough videos about corrupt US police officers available. A cop outside the US get a trained for 3 years and is tested if they are not racist etc. - the average training for an US cop is 25 weeks without any psychological tests. The range is between 12 and 45 weeks. You can't learn everything to do a good job in that short time and without tests you get the assholes, too. You have always to leave the vehicle if the police asks you. Never do it without asked doing so. It's stupid to discuss with an officer next to the street.

The right of a citizen to travel upon the public highways and to transport his property thereon, by horsedrawn carriage, wagon, or automobile, is not a mere privilege which may be permitted or prohibited at will, but a common right which he has under his right to life, liberty and the pursuit ofhappiness. Under common law you do not need a license…. All you people are indoctrinated bootlickers that do not even know what your rights are because you are too focused on learning what the government tells you to learn instead of what you should be….. and before you come at me like a fool look up (John Dalen vs the state) Supreme Court case 21-7237 filed feb 25 2022. Yup, he didn't know why this guy was so combative and, instead of jumping to "he's an aggressive ass, let's use full force", he considered the possibility that the guy was a vulnerable, scared man. He reassured him that he was safe, and taking that approach (at least at first) can go a long way to de-escalate and help protect vulnerable people in high-stress police interactions. It's things like taking a moment to stop and think "is it that this person WON'T comply, or that they CAN'T comply?" that make all the difference.

Police officers are called "Servants of the citizens" for a reason. They serve the public to ensure their safety. Even those that did wrong, still deserve a basic level of respect and care. And most people don't realize that they actually did something wrong and/or are delusional. Especially with those people there can be a higher risk of endangering others, which means the police have to detain them by increasing means of enforcement and make them realize, by still respectful and non-demeaning ways, that they did something wrong and why it endangers others.

In the last video the officer was actually in the wrong, that's why the charges were dropped. If you are not suspected of a crime you don't have to identify. State/country dependant. In Canada if you are driving you HAVE to identify no crime needed. The officers refusal to say what the crime was meant the last guy gave the citizen the right to refuse to identify in many states.

But they went way overboard with the amount of force they used once he was on the ground. And the wife was trying to get him to comply the whole time. There was no need to arrest her from the footage we saw. They also used more force than they needed to with her. They should have tried to calm her down and bring her in gently, not escalate to force in less than a minute. The big cop was completely out of control with rage, he almost killed himself by falling under a car while breaking the window with his hands. Not proper procedure at all.

Like imagine u are going in your friends car thinkin he got everythin checked and all and he gets stopped and he is stubborn and all, and u are like "please comply etc etc" but then u get pulled out too?
