I have to admit, I impersonated a police officer for years. No one ever caught me either. I had a badge and cuffs and everything. I was a bicycle officer. I knew real cops but they had no idea what I was doing behind their backs. Then I turned 7.

That second case demonstrates why impersonating a police officer is such a serious offence. That woman was compliant, cooperative and even told her husband to back off because she truly thought he was an officer. Imagine if this guy was a home invader, she’d be completely helpless.

Yeah, this is bonkers. I'm a US Army veteran and when I got out, I worked in Federal Law Enforcement and later trained private security officers. Having that experience really helped shaped my approach to how I designed curriculum. Sadly, a large part of my training was on how to teach my officers in how to think critically and provide scenarios on what NOT to do. Most of their mistakes were truly just immensely dumb and could have been avoided with just a smidgen of reason.

Then you haven't met many Vietnamese families before. Man I had neighbors just like that family and they think they are all that matters in the world. They play their music loud all the time. They constantly yell and fight among themselves. They always have loud chickens running around. They only respect other Vietnamese. If you ask them nicely to turn the music down because you have to work in the morning they tell you to F**k off. If you argue with one of them the entire household empties out and gangs up on you. They are absolutely neighbors from hell. The only neighbors I had that lived similarly were a family of Mexicans. The reason I loved the Mexicans and couldn't stand the Vietnamese was the Mexicans were considerate, helpful and took the time to tell you in advance when they were going to be playing music and being loud. They would also watch tour property and keep it safe when you are out of town. I have had Mexican neighbors a few times and they were always great.

Then you actually have the audacity to ask them what THEY did wrong to make him come over and trespass on their property and HANDCUFF SOMEONE. There's a way to get a story, and then there's a way to victim-blame. It’s common place for this to occur. I work with a lot of foreign nationals here in the UK and it always amazes me how people assume they are stupid or crazy because of how they speak English. But this is their second language and it really is truly difficult to not just master a second language but perfect the nuances of it. I don’t think this officer was doing it deliberately but he did what a lot of my colleagues have done and I’m sure a good amount of the viewers of this video and assumed a lot. These people are often highly educated and have lived king and full lives and as soon as you hear them interact with other people from their own country, they come to life. It’s just an observation and no hate to anyone, but always bare in mind that if you’re talking to someone and they are using a second or third language their could still be some barriers there even if they seem fluent. Also, if you can’t speak a second language you’re in no place to judge someone who can ☺️

It turned out to be a young man about 20 years old dressed in a police uniform with a badge, and no patches, with a gunbelt with no sidearm. I knew the school had no private security. I stopped him and asked him what he was doing. He said he was walking around to make sure the school was safe. He said he was not a police officer, or even working for a security company, just doing it on his own. I ended up just doing an FI and photo of the guy, and let him go. It's sad that people don't realize they can't just pretend to be an officer. My dad is a retired state policeman from one state, and in his current state he often flashes his badge in situations where he thinks it will help. Like if an officer approaches him he flashes it as if to say "leave me alone" or if kids are acting up he flashes and tells them to disperse or they will be arrested. I told him he needs to stop doing that. He said that since it states it's a commemorative badge he's not breaking any law. Then again he's 80 years old so I'm pretty sure nobody thinks he's on duty.......

Gotta love how these people make absolute fools of themselves while being apprehended and they repeatedly say they want their lawyer.. or they’re suing the police department. Yeah ok if a lawyer sees the body cam footage that police officers wear and see their client acting like an absolute fool during an arrest. That lawyer is probably going to just leave the court room instead of wasting their time.

The last case is definitely on the line of someone impersonating an officer. Whether you're security or not, you know the impression you send when you put on lights, when you're dressed the way you are--any unknowing citizen would assume you're an officer. However, that guy must have been in this situation before, because he knew exactly what to say, "I didn't ask him to pull over. I didn't ask him to get out. I didn't get out." Those are the things that make it difficult to really call it impersonating an officer versus unlawful practice of duties or something along those lines. That being said, I'm REALLY uncomfortable with how badly those officers wanted to make it more than what was present. The language, "It's a shame he didn't pull him over," is scary to me. You're supposed to be an impartial fact finder, not someone SEARCHING for reasons to arrest someone. Moral of the story: I hate fake cops and I hate real ones.

All of these "security" companies that issue these 'look-a-like' law enforcement uniforms should be outlawed and then forced to change them to another more obvious type that can't be mistaken for police. Make them use a color like kelly green or pink, shoot, make em wear bright yellow!!! Every one I've seen including their vehicles are designed to look like some type of real law enforcement. I've mistaken them for the real thing more than once and that's a very big problem..

10:17 these people were harassed and assaulted and the woman was restrained with cuffs, and the officer has the balls to ask them what they were doing? Almost like it was their fault for being in those handcuffs because of their poor actions. The officer should have thought before he spoke and most officers should realize that sometimes what they say can hurt because of the way they see the crime or w/e, but they still need to be understanding and compassionate to people who were just victimized.

It's a reminder that law enforcement officers are not just symbols of authority but guardians of justice. The swift actions taken against the impersonators demonstrate the dedication of our police force in ensuring public safety and upholding the integrity of their profession.

8:40 I wish you would have continued with Casey’s story because it doesn’t get interesting until after the point where you stopped. So, since Casey was sworn in to a police agency, even though he was fired and actively searching for another agency to take him in, his swearing in of the previous agency he was with saved him from those felony charges and they either dropped the charges or lowered them substantially. See Casey technically still had the legal authority of being sworn in as a cop, but just because he gets fired does not necessarily remove him from his swearing in, because of the wording of the law and how it’s wrote. I be,I’ve Casey was allowed to have his charges dropped if I remember correctly and was able to walk away with minimal repercussions.

yeah, ive watched multiple other vids like this with his story and they basically said the judge had to give him a slap on the wrist to save legal face becos so many ppl dropped the ball with him. he knew what he was doing, but at the same time his previous agency had egg all over cos they didnt pull him out of the system once they fired him. he wasnt lying when he said "technically". i do agree, it was dumb and shortsighted of this channel not to give the rest of his story.

I have never been happiler that my ability to speak Vietnamese has finally become useful and relatable. The common case is, not being to speak English well, like my parents, you often get picked on by the white folks, since they know we're at a disadvantage. As someone who has families who struggles against these bullies, I can relate to the Viet family. Imagine how terrified it must be for you to be in a country where you have low communication or reading skills in, to have, what they thought, the authority to come over and hand-cuffed like you like you're going to be locked away.
