There's a reason why NHL players are on the ice and fans are in the stands. We'll talk about that and more as we break down the Boston Bruins vs the Tampa Bay Lightning on today's NHL hockey video!

Okay, Jack Edwards may be a bit over the top, granted, but you also mentioned Sportsnet. When the Leafs play, the Toronto-biased Sportsnet game commentating are unbearable for me. As a Bruins fan, I think that, at least Edwards' hyperbole is directed towards a great team, perennial contenders.

The NHL's default for any 50/50 call involving the Lightning is to give Tampa the call. The league loves Cooper and he has big-time influence with the refs. If you're going to beat Tampa it's best to do so by multiple goals because you'll need that buffer.

As a Bruins fan, Jack Edwards has been a great part of my hockey fandom for pretty much my entire life. He is an absolute homer, but people have to understand that he’s not on a national network, he’s on our local New England station that airs not NHL hockey games, but Bruins games specifically. I'm totally on board with him being a homer. The guys I grew up watching, Fred Cusick and Derek Sanderson were first rate homers and it was great. Not many great pbp guys like Cusick but dang, there's plenty of pbp guys better than Edwards.

That snapshot article was actually written by a bruins writer, fluto shinzawa, which is kind of ironic. First thing you have to get straight is on the Coyle goal the Ref said no goal because the puck never crossed the line. That's why Edwards said what he did. Secondly, Edwards is from New England and grew up a huge Bruins fan. So he rubs people the wrong way with some of his antics. I actually like the fact that he comes across as a fan who is not ashamed of how he comes across. If you have watched and listened to Edwards you would also realize he is a fan of hockey all together and does praise and point out how good other players are. Thirdly, when Marchand scored it showed how close of a group this is. Everyone knew how close Bergeron was and the entire team celebrated like it was their milestone. And that shows how much respect and love the team has for Bergeron. Also like to say that the Lightning and the fans were really great in showing their respect to Bergeron.

1. Jack Edwards is one of the very few commentators that actually use an excited voice when either teams scores (most of the time), unlike the clowns around the league that you would barely know when the other team scores listening to them. He is one of the best color commentators in the league, bringing the game to life and many times making you laugh... unless you like the other team. 2. You’re a long time Bruins hater / Rangers fan. Just like every Rangers fan I know (born a raised on Long Island), no matter who the Bruins play, you cheer for the other team (just as my brother does as a Rangers fan). Funny, I just posted a reply about him being the drunk uncle. And they're fun until they fall into the christmas tree and pee in the potted plants. Or if you're a family member that has to listen to their bull$h!t every single holiday for decades. No, Jack is an embarrassment. No reason to polish that turd. Send him to rehab.

Reminds me of a game I watched last season - Detroit at Seattle. Detroit just scored a goal and they grouped in front of an area to celebrate and the first thing I noticed was some old guy in the front flipping off the Detroit players. I hoped Detroit would clobber the Kraken at that point, but surprisingly, Seattle came back and won the game.

Great video being a Boston fan I agree with the Jack Edward's evaluation he's tough to listen to at times, that said I wish some commentators had half the passion. I want to point out he does at times give other players credit as well as teams.Jack I must say can be entertaining to say the least ,thanks for a great video cheers

I wanted to see you cover the "net-off" goal in the leafs game And in this video you talk about a different "net-off" goal, and bring the story full-circle back to the leafs goal, and i just think that was a genius thing to do. Rather than cash in on a quick video about the leafs goal, you're patient and create much better quality content because of it. I'm a huge Bruins/Leafs fan so this video was particular fun to watch! *unless this goal happened before the leafs one idk, i havnt been watching hockey as much lately so im all over the place

I was at a Red Wing's game on Easter of this year, seats were 2nd row to the left of the net. Had this one fan move up to an empty single seat in the first row. He was heckling the goalie and 2 players. We were all so annoyed with him and laughing with the two Lightening players who were chirping back at him. I have several clips of it.

Jack Edwards is the GOAT. I love how he consistently pointed out the NHL's bullshit the entire game. Including a very subtle comparison of a linesman to Tim Peel in that he "wanted to get back at Coyle" for that goal with a slashing penalty that clearly wasn't (However they gave Boston a PP for the same thing earlier in the game so it could have been a makeup call). And that the Tampa high stick no goal issue could be easily remedied by having cameras super impose a line like a car's backup camera does. "We suggested this exact thing to the NHL 5 years ago and got crickets..."

For me the only way to really appreciate Jack is to take what he says as satire/for entertainment. I used to hate him because I interpreted his commentary in a literal way, but as time went on I recognized that it would be comedic if I were interpreting what he said as fiction and now I view it in a different light.
