You always mention trial and error, trying another way etc.. it’s actually reassuring to see the things that don’t go right first time, in a way it’s inspiring in itself for when we struggle with a repair or restoration and can tell ourselves it’s not just us struggling.

I give you credit for remaining patient. The KZbin channel Marty’s matchbox makeovers includes his bloopers at the end of an episode and he has quite the vocabulary when he makes a mistake 😂

Dave, that was great! But from my own trial and error I have a tip. Literally double the beading wire over I to a "U" and not a "J". Feed both ends through together and don't give it a chance to unbend.

Indeed you have patience. I would probably ask some else to do the job. But taking a break is the right way. I always watch the footage on DVDs, making of, behind the scenes, outtakes, alternate endings …. Keep up the good work.

"Do you even know English, Dom?!?!" Is what I end up telling at my fifth take of trying to just say hello and my name. Very humbling of you to show this. Few understand what it takes to put a vid together. And you're way more experienced than I am. I gave up juggling actively doing something and trying to speak intelligently. I just do voice overs now (and still much those up)

It certainly is harder than you would imagine to talk and fix at the same time. The editing saves pretty much all my videos. I'm much better than I was when I started. But still way off being able to do anything live. That is beyond my ability.

This is a wonderful share. I have such a tough time talking live. So many times I have to redo as a voiceover because I just stumble and stammer. It’s why for a time I just did text, I couldn’t get the voiceover right. This I think will give people the courage to try knowing that even a great channel has their challenges too.

Wow I could definitely feel your frustration. All I can say is you have the patience of a saint. I most certainly do not. I did as a child, but the older I get. The less I have. Which is not helpful within the hobby we share. Great video though. I think its important for people to know what you go through to bring us the content you do. My tip my hat to you Sir. As always thank you for the knowledge and vieos you do. Your hard work is 100% appreciated.

I can appreciate how frustrating it can be trying to repair toys..the amount of times I've tried to repair an arm on a figure using the paper clip method, only to drill a tiny hole that ended up going straight through the arm itself.Grrrrr!!.

Sometimes you just have to walk away when you get frustrated. I've had some very frustrating times trying to repair a MASK Raven about a year back. You have to juggle a lot of pieces inside as you're trying to close things up by adding the bottom of the car back on, and things just kept getting out of alignment or coming apart. Ugh! It was a pain! I did it six times, and finally gave up on it. I bought another Raven on eBay instead. Eventually though, my pal from Canada came to visit me, and I told him that if he could get the one Raven back together, then he was welcome to take it back home with him. He struggled with it for about 2 hours, and with me helping him hold in fiddly bits, we finally got it back together, and in working order! It was a frustrating, but satisfying day, and my pal got a start to his MASK collecting! I also sent him home with my extra Thunderhawk, so he made out like a bandit! lol. Thank you for sharing these behind the scenes moments. I'm even more appreciative of your videos after seeing that! I love your channel, and you're a true inspiration, Dave!

Don't mug yourself, Dave. Those videos you see where someone in a basketball court does a backflip and slam dunks a ball into the net from about 50 yards looks impressive but it probably took them a week of filming attempt after attempt to get the shot! It's said that the only two things in life you can count on are Death and Taxes; you can comfortably add Cock Ups to that list. 😂👍
@BrynSmith769 ай бұрын
Rarely are things as straightforward as they seem. I went 'yay! When you finally got the elastic through on take 3, then it broke and then fell out. I was gutted for you. I could feel your growing frustration. At the same time you have so much patience with it. The best thing you can do is walk away and come back to it later and that is exactly what you did. Some days I'm all fingers and thumbs making customs. If you are anything like me, I expect frustration adds to the slip ups of words and you could end up spiraling out of control if you carried on. I have to take breaks on days like those. As frustrating as it is, I'm glad I'm not the only one and it makes me appreciate your videos more.

I like the behind-the-scenes look, but above all, I have to commend your restraint in using coarse language, Dave, I think if it was me those bleeps would've run for like half of the video lol, but keep at it, keep showing us the way to fix our toys cursing and all! Good work! P.s. would you ever consider deliberately making a video sabotaging your attempt to repair something for a laugh? Or maybe an instructional video-style one on how not to fix toys for april fools? Just something to consider perhaps
