Rex Reed panned this, but it's hilarious! Some people questioned me for the thinking that.

How can anyone not like and see the masterpiece that is Do the right thing? I saw this film I think on the Cinemateque years later from its release and with other Spike Lee films. The film goes by in a swift. There are a small group of films that when you go in the theatre and come out is like time has not passed by at all. This is one of them. I cannot point to any flaws in this film and I love directors who create characters so easily like the one in this film. Spike Lee hated when he was called "The Black Woddy Allen". I associate these characters more with the Master Fellini than Allen.

I didnt like this movie, even if it brought attention to racial tension in America, it constantly kept tension and "hatred" towards almost every character in the film.

You know...I'm mixed black/white, and I've never seen this OR "Driving Miss Daisy". Why? Because, I don't give a rat's ass about skin color. I'm sure both are good films, but they just never interested me. At least, this one doesn't. I love the cast, though.
