Jerry Schilling wrote a book about 12 years ago called "Me And A Guy Named Elvis". I liked it a lot. The perspective of his relationship with Elvis. Billy, you need to do that, if not in a book then here on this channel. Like what you were doing, when you worked for Elvis, year by year from when you were a kid.

Love all ya'll's stories about Elvis and his family and friends. I love the blue colors in the background. Makes me think of the blue Elvis had at Graceland. I think blue was his favorite color. Mine to. I know Joey has a big turnip patch. Alot of post. Someone said Billy said Elvis wouldn't eat turnip greens because that's about all they had to eat. *Nick* defended Elvis in an article he published in TV World Magazine in 1957 titled "I Defend Elvis Presley". People should research to try to look up a copy of it. Powerful writing coming from Nick, himself an entertainment biz person, he put his name and reputation on the line by defending Elvis & pointing out what a good person he was, while calling out many of Elvis's critics at that time. I didn't know a whole lot about Nick Adams but I respect anyone that tries to defend another person's character against slander. Nick put it on the line. And in ways that many other people back then did not, but perhaps also should have. It's clear that Nick, who knew many other entertainers in the business, thought Elvis was as high character a person as any others he had met, but was disgusted by all the unnecessary hate Elvis was receiving at that time. In some ways Elvis name still gets dragged through the mud unnecessarily in our modern era. We need more Nick Adams' out there stepping up today as he did back then. Thanks to Smith fam for this vid.

1:08 into this clip I do have to say that I have so much good and nice to say about this family. Ive been following Billy as much as I could through the years and a more humble down-to -earth guy is hard to find. And when they started this Memphis Mafia Kid channel I started to like the whole family a lot. This is the best KZbin channel there is! It still hurts to think of how Priscilla and Lisa have treated the most loyal person (Billy) Elvis had by his side all the way to the end. He spent so much time and energy to take care of his family member all his life. Just like Elvis took care of his ”little brother” as long as he could. This is what I call a family Billy,Jo and the kids! To see the mutual respect they show each other is fabolous. I wish I had grown up in a family like that! Best regards to the Smith family!

Billy I truly admire your storytelling ability and I love how Mrs Billy chimes in to help you along with your memories. My mom use to do that when dad recited his many Recitations for us kids as we gathered around on a Saturday night. If dad got stuck on a word or the next line mom would fill it in for him and on went the heartbreaking story of The Lovely Madeline or heartwrenching of The Face On The Barroom Floor. You remind me of own parents with your tuned into each other it's like the ingredients of a successful and happy marriage..look at the admiration for you on your Danny's face.. Sure that says it All right there💗

I’m so glad that Elvis had someone, a real down-to-Earth friend (as well, of course, as first cousin) like Billy in his life, especially in the final years. In my opinion Elvis was smart to surround himself with “regular guys” like the members of the MM. My fellow Italian-American Joe Esposito, Marty Lacker (from the Bronx like me), Charlie Hodge, all the guys were “regular folks,” not plastic Hollywood types. Elvis was also smart to stay based in his hometown of Memphis. Sadly, nowadays Memphis has one of the worst crime rates in the USA. Have to wonder if, we’re Elvis alive today, he’d remain in Memphis.

@@alicefulmer601 they are suing the city because the Mayor won't approve their new entertainment arena and other expansions of the Graceland complex. Something about they want the city to agree to pay or subsidize via taxes for the projects. They sued the city of Memphis a couple of times. EPE just never gets enough money. They also have or had a lawsuit with a hotel in Vegas because EPE folded on their contract and the hotel kept a few of the Elvis displays. Etc etc. Don't know if its settled or not. Remember the big Elvis promo she and Lisa opened up in Vegas a couple of years ago? I don't know. There is just a bad smell coming off these people(EPE). A bunch of damn yankees.
