Stylists are like police officers. They 'protect their own' and hate when their mistakes are pointed out. The one way to increase the quantity of customers for stylist is to improve the quality of their work for customers.

Honesty and negativity are not synonyms! I really feel like baby girl is trying to fan the flame and she don’t even deserve the smoke! It’s a reason your instinct is telling you to ignore her shenanigans!

The fact that she’s thinking you’re doing what you do for “likes” and for going “viral” is a CLEAR indication that she hasn’t the slightest idea of who you are or what you’ve been contributing for the last several years. I remember when you went viral for one of your shorts, and you were not happy about the constant notifications and comments/questions you were getting! 😂

Because of your videos I now know how to communicate with my new stylist. I just found her and because I'd been watching your videos for months I knew what questions to ask and how to communicate my concerns with her during my consultation. Thank you for all of the information you've put out here for those that need/want it.

I’m in my 40s and have been going to stylists off and on since I was 13, and can say with biggest part of my chest 🗣️🗣️🗣️ most stylists are trash! I don’t care how much education you have, where you went to school, there are a minority that are actually good at what they do. I’ve NEVER been to a stylist and didn’t have to go home to restyle my hair. And don’t tell me that I didn’t do my due diligence. Most stylists are just not that good. We have every right to talk about this… stylists and consumers, alike.

Idk if any industry doesn’t want critique they aren’t interested in getting better at the craft. I’m a designer so it pretty common to receive critique in our work. We all collectively understand that it makes us better. Why are stylists so stuck in their ways?

He really has. I have been following for about a month. He helped changed the way I view my son's hair and how I approach it. My son prefers his hair long but hates manipulation. Now I have always kept it braided, locs, or twists but I realized I was working against his texture in many ways. I was handling him the same way I had been handled. I washed and styled his hair using some tips I have gotten from the videos. It's only been once but it was more pleasant for both of us and the style has lasted longer.

Welp, you basically said all that I wanted to say in response to her 👏🏾 Thanks for advocating for us (the clients). Stylists like you who care about our crown have allowed us to develop higher expectations for the hair service. So, if other stylists who practice poor technique can't reach those standards, that's on them. We're not settling anymore.

Unfortunately they do. I have been on the receiving end as both a patient and a professional (clinical pharmacist) 😞. It’s all about money these days. Caring doctors that want to help people heal are becoming harder and harder to find. My doctor was the caring and empathetic type until I had a problem with the type of care I was receiving 😳..

Way too much ego and a lack of humility with some of these stylists. Is it me, or is every type of service taken a dive in quality?… hair stylist, customer service, restaurant service.. I think everyone has become too damned entitled.. this is the behavior that has kept me from a stylist for over 10 years.

She worried about somebody being viral, but being viral doesn’t equal to quality content. Quality over quantity is always better which doesn’t equate to longevity. You will be around for a long time after others don’t cut it and dwindle away.

There is a difference between an educated and passionate hairstylist or hair artist and a hairdresser doing hair because they can't work for anyone. Too many are the latter. These imposters attitudes and work ethic are so bad they'd be fired from any and every business establishment. Hence, they've grabbed a pair of scissors and a flat iron and are on their way to ruin everything you love. What a hustle!

It’s always interesting when someone decides to come for you using the exact tone that we’ve all been talking about. Being snooty while calling you petty is the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen. Also, to say “why don’t you teach instead of critique”. You definitely educate ppl on what these folks are doing wrong and that’s their issue.

I'm so glad I learned how to care for and trim my own hair years ago. I only went to a stylist back in 2022 after 10 years of not going to a salon to give me a short tapered cut. Other than that I do my own hair and that's mainly buns, a ponytail, or a wash n go. My hair is doing just fine...and I learned how to trim my hair using the Feye's method and I do it on curly hair.

Too be truthful we need stylist like you & a few others ( you called her name.) I don't know how it should be presented to other stylist but it's to give people the knowledge so they won't get got. It's so people won't get their hair messed up. Too me that's love for someone (you) who are letting folks know what to do & not to do with their hair. That's no even your clients. No matter who they are getting their service from. Thank you for the truthful info you give.

I accept info someone gives me. I look passed how they say it because everybody's personality is different. I listen to the message. I can look over how it's said I'm taking in the priceless knowledge. I'd be like " Oh ok thank you I appreciate that" you can't tell some people nothing. Since they don't want to listen it has to be told to the folks who would reap the mistakes if it wasn't told.

I mean everything doesn't work for everybody, each person & stylist should simply do what's best for them & what works for their clients, my momma always told me there is more than one way to skin a cat & one person's way doesn't mean it's right or wrong. I just don't get all the back n forth & now threats, its just wild watching all this from "professionals"
