When I Am Dead, My Dearest - A poem by Christina Rossetti.
About the poem - Rossetti reflects upon whether she will remember her lover and vice verse, hence giving her lover the choice and permission to do so. Though believes in some sort of immortality of our soul after death she does not want to hope or think about her final resting abode -- heaven or hell. This poem is particularly fascinating because Christina was a devout Anglican who once refused to play chess since, winning gave her too much pleasure.
About the poet - Christina Georgina Rossetti (5 December 1830 -- 29 December 1894) was an English poet. She was born in London, England. Her poetic work includes wrote a wide range of romantic, devotional, and children's poems. She is best known for her long poem Goblin Market, her love poem Remember, and for the words of the Christmas carol In the Bleak Midwinter.

I am in 9 th std this poem was there in 7th class ....I and my classmates cried so much to this emotional poem ... I remembered the first line and quickly came here 😭 I just loved those special days 😭😭
