I love this old hymn, the songs made today to honour God seem's more focused on the one's who are singing sometimes than God and the work he wrought on the Cross, This hymn however surely glorifies God and his Son and what they accomplished. Praise the name of Jesus!

As I get older I realise how much these beautiful hymns have imprinted themselves on my memory. I remembered this one a few months ago and now after receiving the news that I have stage 1 kidney failure and I seek comfort alone unable to sleep because of uncomfortable bodily symptoms I know that there is one the Lord Jesus whom is there to comfort me no matter what and makes me realise how fragile we are. This hymn is so humbling realising how small we are in his glorious presence. He is merciful and kind.
