When I Was Asked To Play Twilight A Thousand Years on a BROKEN Public Piano | Cole Lam

Out in public playing on a public piano at London St Pancras International Train Station and was spotted by some subscribers and followers! I was asked to play a ballad, and my dad suggested either one of my own pieces or A Thousand Years - the one from the Twilight movie by Christina Perri. I had not played that for a while so I thought I would give it a go, and try to remember it as I go along!

Thanks Cole, I remember this, it was back in the Winter (you can see by the clothes people are wearing). I was at St Pancras with you and your Dad that day. When the two guys came along, I went to give them one of the flyers but they didn't need it. As you say, they were subscribers and clearly tuned in to all the Livestreams as they knew the whole family history. I love "A Thousand Years". The version you filmed at home, with Seung playing the cello is an excellent piece of filming and editing by your Dad. The cuts between indoors and outdoors and from monochrome to colour, must have taken him a long time to put together. Worth watching if anyone hasn't viewed it.

Hi Bob. Yes that was really fun! We actually did it in 2 takes, one inside and one outside! Some little bits (b roll) was filmed but all done in just 2 recordings!

More about quality than quantity. Even 30 minutes a day is good enough but aim for 1 hour

It seemed to me that when you performed this while accompanying a base violin played by your friend, you were perhaps more in an accompanying mode versus this brilliant solo performance. But you're playing has matured so much in the last year, ala "Children," we're seeing song after song done at new level, in my opinion. Just loved it.
