Sheet Music: bit.ly/CL_ATY. I was playing my piano arrangement of A Thousand Years by Christina Perri that was written for The Twilight Saga movies - played as usual at London St Pancras International Train Station. If you have a chance do check out my piano and cello arrangement of A Thousand Years that I created and performed with my friend Seung-A - kzbin.info/www/bejne/nXOVh6tmZ9CnhpI When I play out in public, it's really cool to see some of the unguarded reactions that are caught by the camera. Usually, it's a head turn, as people walk by, but sometimes you can some really cool reactions, like the guy's open mouth double take, and his partner looking at him in amusement. Also, there's the couple that walk by and then they come back to walk and listen - first the guy, and then the lady just standing at the back. But what I think is cool is always that young children are drawn to music. Like the kid in the buggy 1:33 (with mum in the yellow top), he (I assume) leans over to watch me and the piano when the buggy is turned, and mum notices it. And then when the double take guy stands and blocks his view, he moves in the buggy and even slumps down to look under the guy's bag. Then you have the little girl walking 2:47 who is watching and her eyes never leave the piano. That's why every child should have a chance to play and live with music - it's just natural that we all grow up with music in our heads and hearts.

You're right about young children's fascination with music. I used to work in nurseries with babies. One day I brought in my guitar and within a couple of bars this herd of babies immediately stopped what they were doing and came trundling across the carpet on all fours. They can really cover the ground quickly! There were about six of them in the group and they all just sat up and looked at me with huge eyes and mouths open but not making a sound until I'd finished strumming. It was a magical moment! 🥰

@@nanayjoy8107 Thanks. Yes, I've been lucky to have had many such moments and I have to say that the majority of them happened during music or dance sessions, primarily with toddlers/3-5 year olds. Physically though, it's exhausting and I recently had a shoulder injury at work (some babies look small but they're not all lightweights!) so I now feel that working with children is more suited to younger people! I think, after I retire, I'll just continue the music in a voluntary capacity. It's so much fun and the children really show their enjoyment without inhibition. 👶🎶
