Fun bit of minion lore The minions are immortal and can’t die. It’s been proven in a lot of the movies on how these yellow guys can’t die through stuff like fire and guns. It’s even worse with the purple minions, who literally can’t die from anything.

I find it so interesting that in retrospect and compared to the stuff that’s coming out today, we can really appreciate the cartoony fun that Minions has in its movie. I still think that there is something to be said about the soullessness the movie exhibits, and how it ultimately WAS bad for the animation industry, but at least it’s fun to watch and has slapstick violence?? You don’t see much of that nowadays.

Honestly I did agreed on this, just because is bad doesn’t always means it can’t be enjoyable, a thing that people failed to understand of hating or liking the movie in the first. I guess we tend to have no common sense. The recent movies like (ironically) Despicable Me 4, Garfield and Kung Fu Panda 4 played it safe. This movie at least have a bit of over the top violence.

Funnily enough, recently when I was at my grandparents, I was in my bedroom just scrolling and my grandpa’s office/room is right across from my bedroom. I first noticed something weird when I heard randomly “king bob! 😃”. I shit you not this 78 year old man watched minions from start to finish. I have no idea why. 😭 Edit: This has nothing to do with anything I said, but I had fun and decided to try to track the voyage of the minions. 3.8 BYA in the infinite oceans of the Eoarchean Period the minions first show up, they evolve over the next 3.1 billion years, ending up on the Shores of The North American Western Interior Seaway in Modern day Montana 70 MYA. They follow this T.Rex until it’s death around the Elkhorn ridge Volcanoes. They swim back across the seaway to Appalachia, island hopping and settling in North Africa 10,000 years ago with the Cave Man. After he dies they go east to Egypt and come across the Egyptians in 2500B.C erecting a pyramid near Cairo. After crushing the Pharaoh they go around the levant, back west to the Bosphorus Straight and north into Wallachia. There they encounter The undead Vlad the Impaler sometime after 1476 (when he died and rose again in his Vampire form). They stay with him at Poenari Castle until he was killed (again) on his 357th birthday: November 2nd, 1788. They probably went North into Russia where they met and fought alongside Napoleon. At the Battle of Berezina in late November, 1812; the minions kill Napoleon as they retreat from Russia. They march North from Belarus to Siberia, then over the ice they cross to Greenland, settling in a cave in the Glaciers of Northern Greenland. There they stay for 155 years until late spring 1968 when Kevin, Stuart and Bob hike south to the southern tip of Greenland, rowing their boat all the way to New York City Harbour in time for June, 1968. Fascinating.

With their goggles turning silver, they actually slowly turn from gold to silver over the ocean trip, implying it's the salt in the water, they fully turn silver after they go in the water, you can see that, since the other minions didn't go in the water, their goggles are still just after the scarlett fight.

I admit that I saw this film back in 2015 (on the first day it came out in cinemas I remember), and I very much liked it and thought it was funny. I had a Minions obsession of sorts back then, so a whole movie about their comical antics was something I greatly enjoyed. Now here’s my opinion of Minions: Well yes, it’s not a good movie with barely any sense of pacing and went a little too long. But does it rightfully deserve the “most hated animated movie”? No, I think the people over reacted because of the huge marketing, BUT at least the movie doesn’t send a bad message to the audiences. I’ll rather watch this movie over Ralph Breaks the internet or The Emoji movie or any other movie I don’t like (as I think on top my head) because both of these movies send a terrible message and product placements. At least the movie (kinda) parody it of British people drinks tea. Now I think about it, the movie actually have a few funny visual gag moments. Final Thoughts: It’s not that bad as people acclaimed to be but it’s sure MID-ions (pun intended). It’s a movie that I can’t say it’s fine art or love it but it’s a movie that I don’t mind of it’s existence and doesn’t takes itself too seriously.
