Lewis and Dunc, in the off chance you read this before playing again, here are two tips: 1. If you want your towns to grow, you want to address all their needs, not just food. Having low sanitation will slow down city growth just as much as low food, and the needs cap at 200% so anything additional beyond that doesn't do anything. EDIT: Duncan figures this out next episode, so three cheers for him! 2. A lot of the other comments have mentioned this, but by the mid-game, leaders become vital for combat. Rome had some pretty good leaders, which allowed their rather small armies to deal devistating damage to your massive armies. Luckily you had enough knights to just overwhelm them, but if you had taken the time to upgrade a knight in each army to a leader before hand, you would have absolutely stomped Rome without taking nearly as many casualties.

Really hope they do another game after this! Definitely need to read the tool tips and whatnot, and get out of the civ mindset of food=growth. Food is only one of the needs you need to satisfy for cities to grow; you can't compensate for lack of faith/sanitation with just more food

The latest patch gives an icon when your explorer has completed a discovery, also recommend looking at earlier techs that now are cheaper, including bombarding from ships

I wouldn't mind seeing a hot seat game of this with just two people before they add in the proper multiplayer. A heads up match between Duncan and Lewis could be neat, since they've learned the game.

only certain ships can siege from the water, (catapult bireme, bomb ship, etc) spartans are unique i think, but knights aren't so they can just upgrade, they did adjust a few things regarding this in the current patch though, for example the berserkers upgrade now into higher level assault units, apparently they didn't before and that may be why you feel stuck with some of them and dont know what to do, but im not sure this was done for any of say, the spartans, or khans, or raiders.

You and Duncan should play through some iconic coop games, not necessarily just strategy games either. For instance one of my fav old series is Lewis and Simon's Portal 2. Be great to just see more Lewis regardless.

ou were all warned that this was a pale imitation of previous games in this genre. The combat screens, worthy of a mobile game, were a big clue. Only a few months left before the offices in Paradox devoted to this game will be filled with cobwebs and tumbleweeds.

@@LadCarmichael I'd rather have two playthroughs of figuring it out at a decent pace than what could be considered min/maxing by spending so much time play Civ City and moving workers around. Who cares about seeing another wonder explored just fight the war it's been built up and even duncan complained to lewis in a previous episode lets just get to fighting.

Thank you for mentioning this! I am getting absolute anxiety at watching them stumble across everything and half-arsing it all, instead of just focussing on one aspect to explore and learn it in detail. I understand the urge to want to understand all the mechanics at the same time, but the level of distraction in the past few episodes has been insane.

@@Speederzzz its not good or bad. Its the willful ignorance of them assuming they know everything about the game, skipping any/all tutorial stuff, and then being confused when the game does not play like civ 5/civ 6.
