AMEN! If a young man is ready to be a true godly husband, then it shouldn't matter if he hasn't gone to graduate school, or is a certain age, or any of those things!
@petertvandort18375 жыл бұрын
Thank-you for your good teaching. Can I suggest that for a young man who is ready to be married marriage is not some-thing he passively waits for, but something he actively pursues with prayer, wisdom counsel and action. Proverbs 18:22, He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favour from the Lord. The active verb finds suggests that finding a wife is something that God has put in a young mans realm of dominion and as he actively seeks a wife and finds one, he obtains favour from the Lord. There are many avenues he can seek a wife and as a young man he has the God given honour of initiating and leading a relationship to marriage.

That's great. I like how you use the syntax to breakdown the verse. I need to get into the habit of doing that, really getting into the word and what it actually says. So thank you for your insight.

It's unofficially said that you shouldn't have those sinful feelings in the first place if you are single.
@mraaronludwig2 жыл бұрын
Wrong. God created mankind with that desire, as He Himself said it is not good for man to be alone, and that any man who finds a Godly wife finds a good thing. It's not sinful to desire a good thing.
@indriadrayton11322 жыл бұрын
@@mraaronludwig this is why I said it is unofficially said. Church folk give an unwritten message that single people should not be thinking about sex or sexuality, and it is a struggle. One that many singles are afraid to speak about in church. Lord, thank You for the Song of Songs in Your Word.

@@waltercoleman624 This is why I said it is unofficially said that you shouldn't have those sinful feelings in the first place if you are single. I am saying that some pastors imply (the unofficially said part) that singles don't have the right to feel such thoughts and that we better get married if we do. Well-adjusted people are more likely to be married. Marriage doesn’t make you better.

Not true. Marriage refines one’s character because it’s no longer about you but both individuals. Each person sharpens the other person

How can a person be restored if they have jumped before God, then what?
@vanessaguzman7573 Жыл бұрын
Just like any other sin, repent, and believe that Jesus is able to cleanse and forgive you. And you can wait on the Lord, and cry out to him to help you turn away from that sin more and more
@tyroneroberts6274 Жыл бұрын
@@vanessaguzman7573 I appreciate your response. I'm just now seeing this. I truthfully forgot that I had even asked this question. In 2010, I got married after God told me to wait. After I decided to do that (as we often do); I heard the Lord say 10 years. In 2020; my wife asked me to make some changes and me being prideful and not ready and not wanting to be controlled (due to enmeshment) i didn't make ANY changes. She filed in March of 21 and it became final in September of 21...and here we are now trying to co-parent an Autistic son between the both of us.

I have a question....what about honoring your mother and father? I am in a situation where I feel my girlfriend and i are ready to get married but my girlfriends family have that trained mindset like Voddie says. They are using the scripture Honor your mother and father against me making us get married after we finish college. where do we draw the line?

The bible does say honour your father and mother and places great importance on it, regardless of what they say. So do take that into consideration; furthermore, your respect for them will help you in your relationship with them in future years.

Marriage is when you are called to leave your family and start your own. You need God's approval, not your parents. Are you ready to be a Preist,Pastor,Provider and Prophet to this daughter of God? Genesis 2:24 For this reason a man will leave his father and his mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh. Matthew 19:5 and said, 'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh'? Mark 10:7 For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife,

They are taking the verse out of context to fit their imposition. As an adult, God has equipped you to provide leadership to your spouse-pray for wisdom in communicating with them your intentions and also seek to understand why they are adamant about you completing college; it is possible that you can achieve what there reservation is and still get married now. You need to show that you are mature enough to address their reservations and also lead your ‘family’ this will give them the confidence that you are ready to lead a family. Make sure you pray and wait to hear from God before going to talk to them. I wish you all the best.

Amen I agree with you sister. We are to honor our parents but not to the extent that is dishonors God. If you know God has called you two together for marriage, marry. That’s not dishonoring them because they are abusing the text.
