@@donyero9033 I’ll be honest with you. Mercer is not a bad company. Their system with the first in first out takes a little bit of getting used to. The average owner operator won’t last long over here, but I don’t know you or your work ethic, business sense, and trucking history, or your expectations. How much are you expecting to gross a week? What are your business expenses? What are your personal expenses? Do you know your cost per mile (including paying yourself) do you know your fuel cost per mile? Do you know that every time you move your truck it costs you money even if it’s just driving to Walmart for groceries. Do you know the difference between fixed costs and variable costs? If you can live with grossing $4,000 a week and taking home $1,500-$2,000 (dry van) you’ll be fine. You can do better, but out the gate until you learn the system that’s where I would set my expectations. A $5,000 week is a good week at Mercer. The really good owner operators do $5,500-$6,000 a week, but they have really figured the system out and run the proper lanes to do so. Not trying to scare you off just being honest. Feel free to reach out to me anytime with questions. Good luck at the end of the day it’s what you make of it.

@Smooth_Operator_83 yes I'm owner operator I stay out a year at a time an I go go go my expenses are really food phone stuff like that but I stay out 12 months at a time what do you think about that

@@donyero9033 I think you’ll be fine as long as you’re being strategic with load selection. Don’t take a good paying load to a dead zone unless it’s paying enough to justify it. At Mercer it’s more about the longer runs than the shorter pickup and drop off daily runs. I think you’ll be fine. Keep us posted.
