I agree new wedges may be be better but not drastically especially for non tour players. Im an 8 handicap and get plenty of spin and control with with my several year old TM high toe wedges and my cousin who is probably a couple points lower than my handicap still uses ping eye 2 wedges and like i said he's a 5 handicap tops. So yes new might be better but dont get sucked into the trap thinking you need new all the time.

Agree. Some players don't even use much spin. It's a modern fad to use lots of spin. My brother is a very good golfer....but it is a big fan of chip and roll. He rarely has to use any spin. His wedges clearly have wear....but do they really need to be replaced? Certainly not...in his opinion. These videos are more about creating a market for sales....rather than actually being reasonable with advice for amateur golfers.

Depends on the player and their short game. I play multiple times a week, I use high quality tour balls, and my wedges are 4 years old. I still get all the spin and check I want! With the price of wedges I just can’t justify getting rid of them. Golf is getting a but to pricey to add 3 new 150+ wedges every year! Makes no financial sense!

I absolutely love my TM MG 4's. Had them for about a year. I play 100 rounds a year (all year round - live in south Texas where winters are mild) and I am starting to notice a little bit of decline in crispness and control. Will replace them next spring.

"If you're changing grips, you should look at fresh wedges." TM, can you talk my wife through this for me? LOL

I will say, I switched to new wedges that a friend gave me and everything stopped working for me. All of a sudden I was slicing my wedges u controllably. Not sure if it’s the shaft, or the larger grip making it harder for me to square the face up . So sad

stop trying to sell people that rust adds spin
@awake7805 ай бұрын
Double speak. They sell you their raw face wedges as naturally aging/corroding to improve spin and then post videos telling you to replace your wedges if they are aging. Which is it?
@brandonsadler24844 ай бұрын
It's not even the rust adds spin. You create the best conditions for the most spin with a raw finish. Steel to ball. The rust is just what happens to the club over time. We'll taken care of rust can be controlled. It just so happens that rust can add spin due to its grittieness that's the truth behind a raw face wedge

Jeez just sharpen the grooves on your old wedges. Price is right and nobody's gonna know the difference. NOBODY
