There will never be agreement on "the most beautiful song," but this gets my vote. My first dance with my wife at our wedding - this song sums up love and commitment and knowing they are the most important when times are tough.

No, this isn’t exactly specifying love story..more so the general friendship that should exist in the world…no one ever came for me whom I had previously loved.. there were those, strangers, who go looking for you…?

Believe me, I can relate. My wife came down to the basement one evening and discovered me weeping nearly uncontrollably while watching this video. I couldn't explain to her what the problem was. I didn't even know. Except that it has something to do with Patty's voice ... because there are others of her songs that have the same effect on me. As far as I'm concerned, she and James McMurtry are the two greatest songwriters of my generation -- and that encompasses a huge number of very, very, very great songwriters.

Red lights are flashing on the highway I wonder if we're gonna ever get home I wonder if we're gonna ever get home tonight Everywhere the waters getting rough Your best intentions may not be enough I wonder if we're gonna ever get home tonight [Chorus] But if you break down I'll drive out and find you If you forget my love I'll try to remind you Stay by you when it don't come easy ....whoa-oh I don't know nothing except change will come Year after year what we do is undone Time gets moving from a crawl to a run I wonder if we're gonna ever get home You're out there walking down a highway And all of the signs got blown away Sometimes you wonder if you're walking in the wrong direction yeah....hey.... [Chorus] So many things that I had before It don't matter to me now Tonight I cry for the love that I've lost And the love that I've never found When the last bird falls And the last siren sounds Someone will say what's been said before Its only love we were looking for So when you break down.... [Chorus]

Well , I say “believe” because not every listener needs to experience to hear Patti so beautifully render the storyline: lots to see when the road is your home for 30 years …and that’s why I delineated this part : I was just arriving or leaving prior to, or arriving post at least 6 hurricanes

The inspiration for all the signs being blown away was specifically Simpsons seafood market marque on hwy98 through Destin, Fl by the hurricane just prior to Katerina
