Had 20ish year old girl with her shorts up her situation tomahawk her kite 10 yards in front of me at Rowena. I'm a new windsurfer and somehow pulled off the most beautiful lay down carve of the day. Didnt know I could do that. It unlocked some magic. Highly recommend hiding under your sail until those lines clear. They can cut your neck and you'll bleed out.

#member Still bringing the smiles on my face with the S.I.S. @Ben! Had a great first session of the year last week on Tuesday. No footage though. Lots of blisters on the hands from being over powered at strand Horst in the Netherlands. Keep up the good work!

I agree with your choice of comment. Converting a kite surfer to windsurfing is quite an achievement👍

got hit by a port tack kiter friends lines. I was on starboard and he was upwind of me. He bore off while i headed up,.. both our faults. While neither of us were going fast, when his lines hit my upper mast ,I was INSTANTLY planted face first like a pitchpole. The taut lines pushed my rig back into my body. We were both surprised . No damge no one hurt. Those lines are dangerous!!

Glad that guy never got hurt by the lines! I had an ultra close call about 3 months ago. I was sitting near my rig stretching my injured glute (between P1 and P2) and suddenly a kite just flew over my head. I looked upwind and the spreader bar was hissing through the sand coming straight towards me. The lines in front and behind me. In a split second I moved to my left and did this ninja move, levitating myself over the bar as it passed underneath. Closest call I've had with a kite, and no chance I could repeat that move again. Sadly an onlooker tried to stop the kite and ended up cutting his hands open. As always, great episode. Go Oscar! And all the young rippers!!

He Definitely earned the hat Ben well done, this year I actually met another kiter turned windsurfer (waver only actually) plus another one is in the making, we just have to be patient that they see the light themselves, that’s all 😬😜🤙🏻

Woohoo! Thank you very much for the recognition. Will DM you. So pumped - once my door has healed up!! Edit: I can’t find any way to contact you either in KZbin or on the website if you could help a fella out?

I suggest a "Fucked up set-ups" series, where you would go out filming with all the wrong set-ups, For instance too small fin, or too big fin and for comparison the perfect fin size.(How do you you recognize it's not right) You could do the same with mast foot, right at the front -what it does to board- Sail with too little downhaul, too much downhaul. I think for most people it is sometimes difficult to spot what is wrong. It just does not feel good :))

I like it... in fact. I'll definitely do that 👍

I also got attacked by kite lines recently and the lines went 3 times around the mastbase... somehow they just don't stay downwind of the windsurfers.. a kite instructor adviced me to buy a linecutter, just in case things get harder. So now I feel like a cowboy with this Mares Hand Line Cutter (Ceramic) on my hip...
