Always happy to hear from the designers of the gear. Good one, Ben.

Great to hear the master speak. His results speak for themselves.

Very intereresting .. the wave sails (obviously when explained here) see much less appearent wind speed than slalom sails. Also about the HD influence on the sail... one of best sail design videos I've seen. Ben asking all the right questions

Amazing video, Ben! Robert is a very nice person, has a lot of experience and his speech is very accessible…and builds great sails….especially the Atlas 🔝🔝🔝🤙🤙🤙

That was not a small talk but I guess we all like to listen the master voice. Even it is a master from the background. Looking forward to part 2 😎

Fond memories of my Pryde wave sail quiver many years ago. Absolutely bomb proof, and a pleasure to rig and sail. Happy days

Hi Ben, I really enjoy your in depth walk talks with different brands. Reminds me of your Defi videos! Super helpful, thank you!

Love to hear the race sail questions !

A good explanation from a very experienced sail designer. I always thought the HD version was much heavier but it is actually lighter. After Ricardo's review and this nice explanation I think a good year is coming for Neilpryde!

It's great to hear and see how much sail designs are continuously developing, and as I ran my own Windsurfing school during the mid 1980s and also had the agency for Neill Pryde sails then I can now see the benefits of the alterations made, and the materials used for sail making overall which are of benefit to the trade and users on their Windsurfers also.👍

Great stuff, and very informative. I'd only add that NP were surprisingly slow to catch up with the weight reduction thing. This is probably because using hi tech materials and new laminates adds a lot to the final retail cost of the sail, and NP were already priced high, even when still mostly mono film.

Great video and really beautiful sails. I just wish they would use a normal batten tensioner, the one they have l, sometimes gets opened up, when you are dragging the sail over rocks and then the batten comes out. Seen it a couple of times already.

Used to go to Maui alot and see Robert at Neil Pride adventure sports in Kahului, didn’t know who he was but he always went upstairs so I knew he was important. In fact I have a NP 4.0 with the stores rental logo on it , NO I didn’t steal it , it was in a spreckleville dumpster =trashed , wrapped it up with a demo sail I brought home and rigged it up with Xmas lights on the front yard, ho ho ho) and for the battens.

Very interesting… as lightweight I have a quiver of older Atlas’s (17/18) so now knowing they are designed for heavier sailors I might just change models…

Great that there are people like Robert Stroj understanding, designing and still being able to improve those sails...Personally I do not understand too much details from what he is saying to be honest 😄😃 but I really appreciate to sail them...

Ben. No pude terminar de ver el video, me marie !! el camarografo no para de moverse, es terrible. . Y las velas siempre las he visto patas para arriba. Tu eres un genio pero esta ves el video no estuvo 10p. Las velas son increibles.
