this is one of my fav stories from the mirage run, because leo is my fav the dude is one of the best ninjas in all of fiction

It's very interesting story. I wonder 2012's TMNT was inspired by this story. I remembered 2012'S TMNT season 3 that Leo is afraid that he's going to blame and he was losing confidence because of his leg's injury, but he had overcome and begins to realized it was in his head. I also wonder IDW comics' TMNT's origin and Ronin was inspired by the story about living life of Japan as sarumai.

Leonardo's journey in the 2012 series was very similar to what he lived through in the Mirage comics when they had to leave New York and went to Northampton (until Return to NY). Almost every version of the Turtles did a similar arc. I am not sure if this story ever inspired any other version. People find similarities all the time, but they could also be coincidences.
