100% and not taking sides but I also understand the frustration of being told “I’m singing this song, I’m writing everything including lyrics, I have all the creative power”. The dynamic they laid out from the start was bound to fail but they made it work longer than one would expect under those circumstances.

Noel was right... If if wasn't for him, the band would have imploded due to laziness, drinking and drugs... and that would have been such a waste. Liam not turning up for the MTV live show at the last minute and drinking all the time... If it wasn't for Noel, it would have just all fallen apart.... Liam was a great front man for sure... But... Fans don’t appreciate Noel enough. He did most of the work in the 90s. Writing the songs and then sitting for days just arranging tunes. Without his leadership, oasis would never have been big
@alancampbell49313 жыл бұрын
That may be the case. You could also argue that Oasis wouldn't ever have been big without Liam. Noel wrote great great songs and Liam sold the fuck out of them not just with his voice but his presence as a frontman. Oasis would never have become what it did without either brother. I don't think Live Forever would have been the tune it was if Noel put vocals down instead. He's a good singer but Liam has that something special that fucking sells it to you. Anyway, you aren't wrong at all, but I feel both brothers deserve way more respect than they get.

@ terrible salesman? Remind me how many number ones he has under his belt with and without Oasis? Remind me why he sells out everywhere he fucking plays? Just because you don’t like him doesn’t mean he’s shit. Remember that

They both needed each other. Liam however has proven that he does not need Noel anymore. Noel is not as huge as Liam is now and he even admitted it. Makes me laugh when people say Noel was the source of Oasis's problems. Here it is, from Liam's own mouth - Noel working hard making the music while Liam was getting pissed and doing his best to derail things because apparently it's cosmically important that he was in the pub and fucking up recording sessions. Can't take anything away from Liam's voice and presence, but fuck me if he didn't do his best to piss it all away while Noel was grafting. Surprised Noel stuck it out as long as he did, especially after scoring a number one without Liam on vocals.

I see what you’re saying and I agree to a point, but I do think Liam’s I don’t give a fuck attitude is what made oasis as cool as they were. I agree that song writing is important but a front man with carisma is just as important when it comes to taking the music to another level. The way they carry themselves on stage. The way the sing the song, the postering. It elevates the music. Many song writers had dreams of being famous themselves but they just didn't have that it . I even think noel saw that his brother had a great stage presence. One of my favorite performances in rock is Liam singing supersonic on like an MTV show or something back in the early 90s . I remember when i first saw it i was an aw. He just looked so damn cool. The band was rocking and he was standing there postering, with his hands behind his back. It was just cool af to me . Liam’s hype. Oasis is hype. Noel is hype. It’s all good isn’t it mate. There isn’t a need to look back in anger. Get up. Go out. Find the shit that makes you happy. Go grind it. Go live live to the hilt, because everyday you get to breathe in and out, and every moment you get to be there for. Don’t let your head get you down anywhere. You’re reading this right now and I’m hoping you have a way to go. Some outlet. Go make music or something. Go out there and make your name big. Because ambition is the father of success and achievement. And the brother of success and ache- this writer was assassinated in the middle of writing, as he was telling you what they don’t want you to know. Don’t listen to advertisement and don’t believe the truth. Only the sun, your heart, and whoever you go to bed with at night

How can you be proud about hanging out in a pub? It’s not an achievement. It makes no sense!😂

Yeah in those days he sounded like a total pain in the arse lol. But also what made these stories hilarious

@@ryline666 But Liam sounded like he was playing the "pretentious rock star". When all is said and done he was just immature. Thought that you had to act the knob to be a rockstar.

Must have been miserable for Noel to work with this psycho who’s just as proud of being in the pub as he is of his vocals. He’s funny to us, but had to be miserable for NG.

@@rkid727 Yes because brandishing a cricket bat and destroying property is a sane and ballanced response to your brother bringing friends back to the studio and having a party. Just accept they are a *pair* of idiots and neither has covered themselves in glory with their behaviour and stop pretending one has the moral high ground over the other.
